Ekiti Police Rescue Twin Babies From Mother's starvation

Ekiti State Police command has rescued some twin babies from their mother, Joy Fatoba, who allegedly locked them up in a room for some  days at Igbara Odo in Ekiti South West Local Government of Ekiti state.


This was made known in a press statement signed by the command"s Public Relation Officer, ASP Sunday Abutu and made available to the press today in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti state capital.


"Today being 05 April, 2021 at about 0945hrs, a distress call was received from a good Samaritan that a lady, who was later identified as Joy Fatoba of Igbara-Odo, locked up her twin babies in her room since about three days ago without food and threatened to kill them should anyone compel her to open the door."the statement read.


 Abutu further that "the Command's Rapid Response Squad(RRS), upon the receipt of the information, swung into action, rushed to the scene and tactically rescued the two kids."


The command added that in the course of interrogating Fatoba, she  narrated that the father of her kids left her for Calabar during pregnancy and had refused to return to take care of her and the kids till date which formed the basis for her action.


Fatoba expressed that she could no longer fend for herself and her two kids due to her hair dressing work that had been failing .


 Meanwhile, the two kids had been taken to the hospital for medical examinations and treatment due to the obvious noticed  under feeding and poor health conditions .


The command promised to ensure the safety of the kids and their mother and directed proper investigation to be carried out and thanked the good Samaritan that tipped them .
