Fayemi deploys Daramola, Aluko to oversee SSG's office, Infrastructure & Public Utilities Ministry

Following the resignation of the former Secretary to the State Government, Hon Biodun Oyebanji and former Commissioner for Infrastructure and Public Utilities, Hon Bamidele Faparusi, from the government, Ekiti State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi has directed the Special Adviser, Governor’s Office, Evangelist Foluso Daramola to oversee the activities of the Office of the SSG until the appointment of a substantive SSG. Also, the Special Adviser/Director General, Office of Transformation and Service Delivery, Prof Bolaji Aluko will oversee the activities of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Public Utilities until the appointment of a substantive Commissioner for the Ministry. The directive takes immediate effect.

The Ekiti State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice has revealed that he never wanted to accept the offer to become Fayemi's commissioner and also explained why he eventually accepted. He made this revelation yesterday, Sunday, while giving his goodwill message at the State Banquet organized in honour of himself and two other sons of the State - Senator Anthony Adeniyi and Dr Adekunle Ojo on their attainment of the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), held at the Adetiloye Hall, Fountain Hotel, Ado-Ekiti. Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, has accepted the resignation of Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, from his cabinet.  The resignation which was conveyed in a letter to the Governor, dated December 3, 2021, takes effect from Tuesday, December 7th. Oyebanji had cited his decision to contest the forth-  coming  governorship election in the State for his resignation as Secretary to the State Government. Governor Fayemi in accepting Oyebanji's resignation, thanked the former SSG for his remarkable contribution to the administration since inception in 2018 and wished him well in his future endeavours.

BAO's LG Endorses Him As APC Governorship Flagbearer Amidst Funfair

By Ayotunude Seyi Ekiti West Local Government leaders in the All Progressive Congress (APC) have unanimously endorsed the Secretary to the State Government, Mr Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji (BAO) as their sole candidate for the governorship seat in the forthcoming primary election of the party in in January. In a motion moved by the Chairman of the Media Committee who doubles as the Special Adviser on Media to the Speaker of Ekiti State House of Assembly, Akogun Tai Oguntayo and seconded by the Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Prof Femi Akinwumi, Mr Oyebanji was adopted as the aspirant who will be presented to the exclusion of others as the APC Governorship flagbearer.  All the elected and appointed political office holders in the local government supported the motion as they stood behind the mover, Akogun Tai Oguntayo.   Earlier in his welcome address, the Coordinator of the steering Committee that organized the rally, Hon Tajudeen Akingbolu described Oyebanji

Ekiti 2022: Fayemi Gives Dec 18 Deadline to Governorship Aspirants to Resign Position

  Ekiti State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi has directed anyone serving in his government who would like to contest the governorship primaries to tender his or her resignation latest by December 18th. The directive was contained in a statement signed by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Yinka Oyebode, in Ado-Ekiti on Wednesday.  The development, according to the statement, became imperative in order to ensure cohesion and excellent service delivery - two major  hallmarks of the administration- remain uncompromised.  In compliance with directives of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State has slated the governorship primaries for January, ahead of the June 2022 governorship election.
