BAO's LG Endorses Him As APC Governorship Flagbearer Amidst Funfair

Ekiti West Local Government leaders in the All Progressive Congress (APC) have unanimously endorsed the Secretary to the State Government, Mr Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji (BAO) as their sole candidate for the governorship seat in the forthcoming primary election of the party in in January.


In a motion moved by the Chairman of the Media Committee who doubles as the Special Adviser on Media to the Speaker of Ekiti State House of Assembly, Akogun Tai Oguntayo and seconded by the Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Prof Femi Akinwumi, Mr Oyebanji was adopted as the aspirant who will be presented to the exclusion of others as the APC Governorship flagbearer. 


All the elected and appointed political office holders in the local government supported the motion as they stood behind the mover, Akogun Tai Oguntayo.

 

Earlier in his welcome address, the Coordinator of the steering Committee that organized the rally, Hon Tajudeen Akingbolu described Oyebanji as the "son of the soil" who had consistently been part of the development of Ekiti State in the last 25 years. He therefore urged all towns and villages in Ekiti West to be grateful to God for making Oyebanji acceptable to the party leadership and followership in Ekiti APC. 


The APC Chairman in the Local Govt, Prince Olu Aladeloye was optimistic that come January next year, Mr Oyebanji would emerge victorious as the flagbearer of the party because "he is known to everyone in the 16 LGA as a very humble and homegrown politician."  He therefore pleaded with other Local Government areas to join hands in ensuring that he emerges the winner.


Among other notable personalities from different communities that spoke in favour of Mr Oyebanji are; Hon Tajudeen Akingbolu, former House of Assembly member and current Commissioner in the House of Assembly Service Commission, Hon. Kayode Fasakin, former Regent of Erio Ekiti and current Special Assistant to the Governor, Princess Adejoke Adetoyinbo-Ojo, political leader from Erijiyan, Elder S. A. Ajayi and Prince Olu Aladeloye.


Others present at the event are; the Chairman of Ekiti West Local Government, Hon Karim Agunbiade; the two House of Assembly members from the local government, Hon Tajudeen Akingbolu and Hon Johnson Oyekola Bode Adeoye, the three newly elected Chairmen of Ekiti West, Eka Meta and Okemesi/Ido-Ile LG/LCDA; Sesan Okere, Johnson Kayode Oyebola, and Sunday Owolabi respectively.  


Others are; Secretary to Ekiti West Local Government and Vice Chairman elect of Okemesi/Ido-Ile, Hon Adeoye Ajayi, Supervisor in the Local Government and Vice Chairman elect of Eka Meta, Chief Ebenezer Adebusuyi, a political leader in Aramoko, Mr Tayo Ojo, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Electronic Media, Mr Kanmi Olatoye, 


Also present are; former council Chairman, Hon Segun Asubiojo; political leader from Erijiyan, Otunba Dayo Famoyegun, Commissioner in the Local Government Service Commission, Mr Segun Onaade; Senior Special Assistant on Political Surveillance, Hon Busuyi Ayorinde, Otunba Dayo Famoyegun, Education Secretary in Ekiti West, Adegbaye Sunday; APC Vice Chairman in Ekiti West Taiwo Ibidapo, Mrs Rabiatu Oderinde and the 11 ward leaders in the local government, local government party chieftains among others.
