EndSARS: Ado Ekiti Residents React
PUBLIC OPINION POLL by ORIMABUYAKU NIFEMI, FOUNTAIN NEWSBREAKER.
Now that the curfew has been relaxed from 8pm to 6am in Ekiti State due to the End SARS protest. What is your advice to the youths and the government?
DR. (MRS) OLAJUMOKE OJO, A Lecturer at Ekiti State University, Biochemistry department
Youth should not give in but should re-strategize. They should know that they are against strong cabal hence should try as much as possible to plan carefully and take back their lives and future from these monsters.
To government, God has torn their government, their lies and wickedness will end in Jesus name.

The democracy we learnt and know is of the people, for the people and by the people. The case is not so in our generation. To the government, I would say that more needs to be done in attending to the need of the mass. The same set of persons that enjoyed free education, free food in institution, they enjoyed good job after graduation, yet they are presenting a difficult country for the masses to live in.
There was a time 0.60 naira was $1, we were producing majority of what we consume in the country. This is no longer available because many are gaining from importation duties. Well , if selfless leaders don't emerge, the country may remain this way.
To my colleagues, I appreciate the fact that we are now awake, we were never a sleep though, we were just unsure of how to go about the revolution. I am sure the government is aware by now that we know what we want but more needs to be done. We need to occupy locally before occupying nationally. Our barking may remain that if a toothless dog if we are not strategic and effective in our plans. Let me bring this to you that the principalities we are dealing with have wisdom for something (money) and they will stop at nothing to keep their incomes growing.
My charge to us is that we should be gentle as the dove and be wise as the serpent.
Together we can make this happen. Nigeria will be great again.
God bless Nigeria🇳🇬

To the youths: This is not the end. We are not just going to seat and watch our leaders maneuver us like kids. So, we should prepare for a powerful comeback in 2023. Go get your PVCs and they should try as much as possible to shun violence, electoral malpractice and any form of vote buying. We have a voice and we are going to use it...
To the Government: This might be a shock to them (that the so-called Nigerian youths have woken up from their slumber and have shook the country if not the world in the past few weeks). They should expect more, we are tired of being fooled and played. We are trying to build a better Nigeria and it's going to happen with or without their support. But, it would benefit them, if they begin to rule and govern us all in the right way, before things get out of hand... God bless Nigeria.

I think the government should be honest with the citizens..... They ain't honest and it in no way helping the situation....
To the government, they need to understand that the way they governed 10, 20 years ago, is not the same way they will do it now. Life has evolved, they are not ready to accept that the way their predecessors governed before them is not the same they will govern now.
Life has evolved, every citizen of Nigeria now know their right, even if they don't know all, they know a little. They know the things that the government is supposed to do for them, so the government is still residing in the archaic way of governing the people and it will not work and they are doing so because of their greed.
All these social media bills, they should not try it, countries that they are comparing Nigeria with are well developed than Nigeria, they are still the one residing in 1990's.
They need to embrace the accountability that people are asking for, we are not just asking them to reform SARS and all. We are telling them to be accountable for the lives of the citizens they are there to protect. They are just trying to avoid the accountability, because they don't want to be accountable for this person's death, that's why they are shifting blames. That need to learn it, be accountable to the people. At least, these are the people who voted you in, agreed, there could have been rigging at one point or the other, but then some persons still voted you in, mean while you'll still be accountable to God. So while, they are here on earth they need to learn and accept that accountability, that's what we are asking for.
For the citizens, let's keep applying pressure, that's the way out. But we should find a different way, have not really thought of a good way. The protest we did, is a good way, it made them to move, but we can't continue with it. Either ways, we shouldn't stop applying pressure.

Having seen what has happened lately as regards EndSARS protests ,I would like to advice the Youth (myself inclusive) to be more logical and strategical when dealing with the Government. However, it is paramount that every youth is actively involved in politics and interested in political offices, this will also make sure our voice(s) are heard.
OPEYEMI OGUNTIMEHIN, A 400Level Biochemistry Student of Ekiti State University.
The government should at least demands of the youth even if not all but to a reasonable extent...
As youths we have no choice than to embrace peace and the let the government grant our demands..
We are praying for a better Nigeria so we should divide it ourselves

To the youths
Never relent remember we started a EndSARS protest for a reason and our conditions have still not been met, therefore we shouldn't give up for the sake of the warriors who died at Lekki toll gate, for a better Nigeria, for the security of the citizens. Even though gathering physically might not be feasible make use of every platform you have, speak up.
Don't only speak ACT let's start taking up roles in states, local government, we need youth in politics, because if we speak for centuries and do nothing we are like loud cymbals making noise, let's take a bold step.
To our government
The existence of a government means there are people to be governed and it is the duty and responsibility of all organs of government, and of all authorities and persons, exercising legislative, executive or judicial powers to make sure whatever they is to the benefit, comfort of the other citizens and when their hardships are spelt it is their duty to listen and look for a way out, if it can be totally erased find a means on how to manage the situation...it's just so sad that in Nigeria my beloved country, our leaders only care about themselves, they even made up clans na wa ooo, una no fear God...anyways it's not over until it is over. The government should do the needful, let there be a press conference between the youth & the government, listen to what they have to say, deliberate on the way forward, if there need to be a panel let it be, but it should be independent, they report directly to the Governor or President.
