Modupe Adelabu, an epitome of virtue - Ekiti Speaker

When we talk of a virtuous woman in the real sense of it, it is the former Deputy Governor of Ekiti State, Prof Modupe Adelabu.

This assessment was made today by the Speaker of Ekiti State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Funminiyi Afuye in his goodwill message to mark the 70th birthday of the Ado Ekiti-born princess.

Afuye in a press Statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media, Akogun Tai Oguntayo, described the Chairman of the National Board for Technical Education as "an erudite scholar, a tolerant leader and humility personified."

Afuye opined that Professor Modupe Adelabu is a rare gem who has done Ekiti proud both in the academic field and in political circle."

Explaining his experience  as the former Commissioner while Professor Adelabu was the Deputy Governor, Afuye said; "she always played a very loyal and supportive role to the government of Dr Kayode Fayemi through her quality advice as at when necessary."

The Speaker described age 70 as a landmark in the life of any man or woman and for this reason, "we thank God for her life which is worthy of emulation"

He then called on politicians and younger generation to borrow a leaf from the enviable life of Professor Adelabu who he called a role model in all ramifications.
