Former Deputy Speaker of Ekiti State, Rt. Hon. Oladapo Karounwi and former Vice Chancellor of Bayelsa University, Prof Bolaji Aluko were not listed among the sworn in Commissioners today just as the governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji aloted ministries to 19 others.
Karounwi is from Efon Alaaye while Aluko is from Ode and the two were among the names submitted to the House of Assembly for the posts of Commissioners. Both of them were screened cleared by the Assembly but not only that they were absent at the event today, their names were not included in the list of allocation of ministries announced by the governor.
The Governor swore in Nineteen (19) Commissioners and Fourteen(14) Special Advisers to assist him in the development of the State.
Performing the Ceremony at the Government House Ground in Ado Ekiti, Oyebanji charged the Appointees to live above board at performing their duties.
According to him, "I therefore demand total dedication to duty, diligence and commitment to the actualisation of our Six Pillars which is our social contract with Ekitikete".
Meanwhile, the removal of Rt. Hon. Karounwi might not be unconnected with a crisis in Efon Alaaye in which many people were wounded and properties worth millions of naira were destroyed.
