Ekiti 2022: APC Oyebanji Urge Court To Dismiss Suit Challenging Governorship Primary

• Court Fixes Aug 4 for Judgement Ekiti State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Governor-elect, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, have  prayed that a Federal High Court sitting in Ado Ekiti dismisses a suit filed by an aggrieved aspirant, Mr. Kayode Ojo challenging the result of the January 27 APC governorship primary. The APC and Oyebanji who are the 1st and 2nd defendants in the suit maintained that the direct primary held in all the 177 wards in the state were valid and were in compliance with the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended), the Electoral Act 2010 (as amended), the constitution and guidelines of the party (APC). Oyebanji who emerged as the APC candidate from the primary went ahead to win the June 18 governorship election in the state. After sacking Aides, Fayemi Dissolves BOUEST Governing Council

Ayu Esuku Barely a week after announcing the sack of his political aides, the Governor of Ekiti, Dr Kayode Fayemi, has dissolved the Governing Council of Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology, Ikere Ekiti.  The Governor approved the dissolution of the Governing Council with immediate effect. This was made known in a  press release signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Yinka Oyebode today in line with the State’s extant transition policy.  The Governor however thanked the Chairman and members of Council for their contributions towards the development of the institution, the Governor wishes them the very best in their future endeavours. EFCC: A Threat To Young Successful Nigerians

Ayu Esuku | Fountain Newsbreaker NG In response to the parade of  13 suspected internet fraudsters by the   operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Port Harcourt on Thursday 28 July 2022, the Federal agency, have been accused of raiding  homes of innocent Nigerians and carting away private properties of residents suspected to be involved in cyber crimes. The raid was done in collaboration with the Special Anti-robbery Squad (SARS) unit of the Nigerian Police on July 21 2022 at Alakahia community, which is a host community for most students of the University of Port Harcourt who live outside the school campus and the indigenes of the community.  Speaking with some residents who pleaded  anonymousity,confirmed to Fountain Newsbreakers that this was not the first invasion, as the officers come at intervals to arrest youths especially males sighted around the vicinity  between the ages of 15 to 35 years. The Commissioner representing Ekiti at the NPC, Mr. Deji Ajayi,  on Monday during a  press conference said a  trial census would be conducted in Ekiti in preparation for next year's main census exercise.   The NPC boss added that  nine towns across nine local governments selected out of the 16 councils in the state, had been delineated into Enumerated Areas(EAs) to ease the trial census, which are; Ado, Emure, Iro, Ijero, Ikole, Iworoko, Ise, Ikun and Omuo Ekiti.
