Emergence of Oyebanji, reward for patriotism - Ekiti Monarchs

Traditional rulers from Ijero Local Government Area of Ekiti state have drummed their support for Governor-elect, Mr. Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, describing him as an answered prayer.
Oba Joseph Adebayo Adewole, the Ajiro of Ijero-Ekiti stated, on behalf of the Ijero Local Government Council of Traditional Rulers , thanked the Governor-elect, his deputy, and other leaders of All Progressives Congress(APC) and expressed satisfaction on the emergence of Oyabanji as the Governor-Elect, because of his involvement in the process that led to the creation of Ekiti State in 1996.
He said ' The emergence of His Excellency,Abiodun Oyebanji as Governor is not only a reward for patriotism,but an answer to many years of prayers that a home-grown person,who understands the nitty-gritty of Ekiti creation and how to go at Ekiti development becomes our leader'.
The Monarchs however appealed to Mr. Oyebanji to note the vital role of reviewing the blueprint put together by the committee for the purpose of developing Ekiti State. They stated comprehensively how it will guide and prepare him to take over leadership come October 16, 2022.
Furthermore, Alaaye Oba (Dr.) Emmanuel Aladejare and the Olojudo of Ido-Ile Ekiti, Oba Aderemi Obaleye, spoke on the need for the Governor-elect and the All Progressives Congress(APC) not to forget the promises they made to the Ekiti people and the traditional institution, they also prayed for the success of his administration.
Hence, Mr. Biodun Aboyemi Oyebanji assured the royal fathers that they will be accorded due recognition and his admission will not go out of line.
However, the visit had other side attractions,but most prominent was the presence of some members of The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the Local Government, known as One Million Boys, who defected to the ruling APC.
They were received by The Vice-chairman of the APC in the State, Hon. Sola Elesin, and he assured them of better treatment in the APC.
The new members who were led by Chief Soji Adedayo expressed satisfaction in defecting to All Progressive Congress as they were not recognized by the older party and they swore allegiance to work with BOA for an efficient and productive administration in the new Ekiti government.
In his speech ‘I can not keep working with a political party that doesn’t see my importance or quality so I have to move to APC for good governance and recognition as the Governor-Elect stands a better chance to develop Ekiti'.
In the same vein,before leaving Efon Alaaye, Oyebanji, set a pace as he led his deputy, Mrs. Monisade Afuye and the active supporters on a courtesy visit to the residence of the PDP candidate in the just concluded gubernatorial election of June 18, Otunba Bisi Kolawole, where they were warmly welcomed .
