Ekiti State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Olawale Fapohunda has reacted to the ruling of the Ekiti State High court nullifing the proclamation made by the State Government over the relocation of Ilejemeje Local Government Headquarters from Iye-Ekiti to Eda Oniyo-Ekiti.

Fapohunda in his reaction said "I do not understand the ruling of the high court. But I admit I am learning everyday.

"Before now I had thought the Supreme Court is the highest Court of the land, its decision final, conclusive and can only be reviewed in exceptional circumstances by the Supreme Court itself and not by an inferior court. By the ruling  of the High Court it would seem that is no longer the position". He said that the Ministry of Justice will study the ruling and do the needful with the next 24 hours.

He added that 'although disagreeing with the trial Judge was acceptable, impugning his motives was not'

The Attorney General further  appealed to parties to the suit specifically the Iye Ekiti and Eda Oniyo Communities to continue to maintain the existing peace as the State Government is committed to a peaceful, speedy and final closure of this matter.
