"Matriculation is a Tradition"- Eksu VC
During his speech, he made it clear that Matriculation Ceremony is a unique and very important one because that is what makes you a bonafide student of the institution. He encouraged the matriculants not to involve in any illegal activities so that their graduation day won't be cut short. They can only succeed if they are studious and obey the school rules and regulations.
"Be rest assured to get your certificates on convocation day instead of notification of result"
The VC furthered in his speech that over 8000 students were admitted and presently EKSU is number 3 out 80 State Universities. He instructed the matriculants to go to their faculties to get their Matriculation numbers and their ID cards.
He told the SUG leaders, DSA, CSO to protect the matriculants from the norms of the seniors beating them instead of celebrating with them.
In attendance, the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Edward Olanipekun, Deputy Vice Chancellor, JAMB representatives, Registrar, Bursar, Deans of each faculties, Director of Academics, Head of Departments and other University Officers.
The Dean of each faculties presented the students of their departments ( Agricultural sciences, Arts, College of medicine, education, engineering, law, management sciences, science, social sciences)
The Registrar, Ife Oluwole presented the University Identity Cards to two students from each faculties.
