EKSG Relocates Ilejemeje Council HQts To Eda Oniyo

Ekiti State Government in compliance with a Supreme Court Judgement of 14th December, 2018 has directed the relocation of Ilejemeje Local Government Headquarters from Iye-Ekiti to Eda Oniyo-Ekiti.
Speaking at a Press Conference today Monday, 21st of October, 2019, held at the conference Hall of the Governor's Office in Ado-Ekiti, Otunba Bisi Egbeyemi, Deputy Governor of Ekiti State said that, "By virtue of the Supreme Court's Judgement, Eda Oniyo is the recognized headquarters of Ilejemeje Local Government of Ekiti State".
Egbeyemi explained that the decision was made having sought the Legal Opinion of the Attorney General And Commissioner for Justice, Olawale Fapohunda and the recommendation of a ministerial committee on the implementation of the Supreme Court Judgement.
According to Otunba Egbeyemi, "The Committee was inaugurated with a single mandate to advise on steps to be taken in practical terms to implement the Supreme Court Judgement. The committee issued its report on June, 2019 having received experts advise from individuals, Government Institutions and visited Ilejemeje Local Government on the 15th of April, 2019".
Egbeyemi stressed that, "By this proclamation, all relevant Departments and Agencies of Government, Public Functionaries, Institutions, Organizations, Associations, Corporate bodies and individuals at all levels in the State are expected to note the development and cooperate in making the relocation a smooth and successful exercise for the good of the people of Ilejemeje Local Government and in the best interest of our State".
