Ekiti Assembly Commends Fayemi Over Projects



Ekiti State House of Assembly has commended the State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi on his administration's efforts at implementing the various on going projects in the State Capital, Ado Ekiti and other parts of the state.

Chairman of the House Committee on Works and Transportation, Hon Gboyega Aribisogan gave the commendation at a working visit to the office of the State Commissioner for Works in Ado-Ekiti.

Hon Aribisogan specifically mentioned the Ado-Iyin new dualization road, the Civic Center, the Pavilion and Oja Oba market as legacy projects aimed at transforming the landscape of Ekiti State.

He particularly praised the Governor for his administration attention on the completion of the Oja Oba market in Ado Ekiti and some other ongoing projects despite the paucity of funds, stressing that the completion of the market will bring succour to market women as well as improve economic activities in the State capital.

The House Committee Chairman on Works also described the prompt fixing of potholes on highways within the Ado metropolis as a succour to motorists in the state capital and called for more support for the government towards the people getting more dividends of democracy.

Other members of the Committee that include the Deputy speaker, Rt.Hon Hakeem Jamiu, Hon Ademola Ojo, Hon Tunde Idowu and Hon Reuben Awoyemi called for robust partnership between the Assembly and the Ministry on some laws that could enhance governance and improve the transportation sector n the state.

Earlier the Commissioner for Works and Transportation, Mr Sola Adebayo briefed the Lawmakers on the various ongoing projects in the state and called for more collaboration between the Ministry and the Assembly so that the vision of the present administration on projects implementations and delivery could be achieved.
