Tribunal sitting in Abuja The grounds for refusing  basically are the generic nature of the pleadings on recount and the involvement of the Secretary of the Tribunal in the Recount & who was prayed to authenticate and tender the Results of the Recount. The three-man panel Tribunal headed by Justice Suleiman Belgore, held that such request lacked merit, even as it accused PDP and Kolapo of “fishing for evidence under the guise of ballot recounting”. Why I Ignore Blackmailers, Face My Campaign - MKD, Reps Hopeful

Image
House of Representatives hopeful in Ekiti South Federal Constituency 1, Mr Makinde Araoye has declared those behind his blackmail as persona non grata. Hence his decision to ignore them and their principal. Speaking to Fountain Newsbreaker at Ikere Ekiti today, Mr Araoye noted that "only unserious aspirant will be joining issues with a faceless writer who is not from his constituency more so that the said Mr Jacob Ilesanmi is confirmed by those who know him to be a psychiatric patient." Araoye, who shared the joy of his birthday on Wednesday amidst thousands of his supporters, announced that he would not look back in his determination to improve the lives of ordinary Ekiti people. "Any life which is not dedicated to the pursuit of better ideals is not worthy of living," he said. The Ilawe Ekiti born son of a Medicine Professor considered it a sign of weakness for an aspirant to be employing "some never-do-well" to be destroying opponents. Accordi

Osun Lawmaker ‘bathing in market’ Video Allegation: Police Gives Report

Image
Timothy Owoeye, an Osun State lawmaker seen on a viral video depicting him as bathing in the market square with human blood for ritual, was a victim of a ritual syndicate which had operated in the state for a long time, the police have told PREMIUM TIMES. Little was known outside of Osun State about Mr Owoeye until a video showing him being beaten by some men who purportedly caught him taking a midnight ritual shower in a market hit the Internet this weekend. Some of those who circulated the video on social media said Mr Owoeye, who is currently the House Majority Leader of Osun State House of Assembly, was performing the ritual as he intensified activities towards his political success in the upcoming general elections. But Mr Owoeye, representing Ilesa West for the All Progressives Congress, was actually a victim of a high-wire blackmail racket that had seen him part with humongous amount of his personal wealth in a desperate bid to save not only his own career but family

The Michael Opeyemi Bamidele Story By Bimbo Daramola

Image
MOB & Bimbo Daramola Every time I remember this close shave, shrills go down my spine, I break out in goose bumps. When the story broke I was hysterical! I did not know what to say? The questions to ask? The person to ask?   My hands were shaking, I was shaken to the last vertebrate, I tried to reach Ahmed Salami the SA media to MOB, my own dear diligent, respectful and loyal aburo, initially he could not pick and later he said, “he is stable now”, I said; “praise the Lord”. I kept calling and monitoring till he left Ekiti, and as soon as he got into the lagos hospital, I was there the next day,   couldn't see him, I went back to Abuja   and was back   just in time before he went to London. And today I went to see him! MOB, Michael Opeyemi Bamidele is back, strong, fit as fiddle, agile on his feet. When I stepped into the sitting room, I said; “Lord thank you because "mi o ri Bata ofo lenu lekun"; I thanked God that I was not ushered into the hous

Fayemi Cannot Afford Sorrogates In EKHA - Akogun

Image
KAyode fayemi             A lot has been said and read about the different characters coming out to contest for various positions under the two major political parties in Nigeria but the one that interests me here now is the Ekiti State House of Assembly and the APC as a party.             If there is any major thing which the Governor-Elect, Dr Kayode Fayemi is expected to do differently, it is the emergence of responsible men and women in the forthcoming House of Assembly because what is now being witnessed in the State is nothing to write home about.             With Dr Fayemi’s pedigree, people believe that gone are the days of touts and irresponsible men and women in the House of Assembly.   Therefore, inexperienced and immature men and ladies should have no place in the next Assembly.   Another very crucial thing is that political pundits have observed that former Governor Segun Oni’s group is frantically moving round the State to install its surrogates in the vari
