Fayemi Cannot Afford Sorrogates In EKHA - Akogun

A lot has been said and read about
the different characters coming out to contest for various positions under the
two major political parties in Nigeria but the one that interests me here now
is the Ekiti State House of Assembly and the APC as a party.
If there is any major thing which
the Governor-Elect, Dr Kayode Fayemi is expected to do differently, it is the
emergence of responsible men and women in the forthcoming House of Assembly
because what is now being witnessed in the State is nothing to write home
about.
With Dr Fayemi’s pedigree, people
believe that gone are the days of touts and irresponsible men and women in the
House of Assembly. Therefore, inexperienced
and immature men and ladies should have no place in the next Assembly. Another very crucial thing is that political
pundits have observed that former Governor Segun Oni’s group is frantically
moving round the State to install its surrogates in the various
constituencies. As members of the same
political parties, there is nothing bad in people having ambition but when it
becomes an inordinate one, it should be condemned.
Before the governorship primary
election, all the aspirants entered into an agreement that whosoever won would
be rallied round but since Dr Fayemi emerged as the winner at the general
election, Engr Oni and his group, Atunse Ekiti has been moving up and down with
the motive of snatching the mandate from Dr Fayemi.
This has equally
propelled Oni’s group to be sponsoring its members into the various State and
National Assembly positions with the motive of giving the Governor-elect, Dr
Fayemi problems after his swearing-in.
All hands must therefore be put on
deck to ensure that trusted hands, men and women with versed experience in the
management of men should be allowed to obtain the nomination form of the party.
