A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Mr. Femi Bobade  has assured that Oluomo Segun Osinkolu will emerge the winner of next week's primary election as the APC senatorial Candidate.

Mr Bobade, an Ilogbo Ekiti born public relations consultant and a staunch supporter of Oluomo Osinkolu for senate gave this assurance while the aspirant rounded off his final phase of campaign in the 52 wards of the senatorial district.

Dr Osinkolu on Thursday visited some wards In Ido-Osi Local Government Areas where he told his supporters to get ready to perform their civic responsibilities. He harped on his 9-points Agenda and why they should all come out en masse to cast their votes for him come next week Tuesday.

In this interview with Fountain Newsbreaker DEPUTY EDITOR, Abasi-Femi Oguntayo, Femi Bobade aka Adebob, in his Ilogbo-Ekiti Office, revealed why he is supporting Oluomo Osinkolu and how his candidate will emerge the candidate of the APC. Excerpts:

WHO IS ADEBOB?

I'm Femi Babade, a Public Relations Consultant.  I have been in practice for over 40 years and I'm equally involved in politics.

WHAT IS YOUR POSITION IN OLUOMO CAMPAIGN TEAM?

Oluomo has been in the senatorial race in the last 10 years, specifically since 2006. I had never supported him until now. He lost to Senator Adetunmbi in 2011, in 2015 he lost again and I appealed to him to support us in the general election because then I was consulting for Olu Adetunmbi. I wanted him to have a second term so  we defeated Oluomo in the primary but we list at the general election. Since that time, I've been relating with him, he has been consulting me and I have been assisting him professionally.  This time around for the next primary election coming up next week, he has a very bright chance.

SO WHAT PROMPTED YOU TO SUPPORT OLUOMO THIS TIME AROUND?

His ruggedness and his commitment to the party. He is a party man to the core.  You see,  a lot of people, the moment they lose in the primary election they move to another party but this man did not leave the party and I made a pledge that I'm going to support him in his next ambition. That is why I'm supporting him.  He is a philanthropist as far as I'm concerned, he is the kind of man that we should be looking up to for a sort of liberation. Politics the way it is being played in Ekiti is played by people who are driven by ambition and I think it should not be so. You can imagine in the last governorship primary election, the poorest of the poor decided who became the governor. It is very annoying but this time around, they are talking about all card carrying members to vote and hopefully he is going to defeat everybody. All the other aspirants are also good but this man is the best of them all.

WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO SAY ON THE FACT THAT HE IS FROM THE SAME PLACE WITH THE GOVERNOR ELECT?

You see, all those are just political nonsensical issues. Buhari and the Senator from his place are voting from the same polling unit.  Even the governor elect said if his brother wins in the primary, that no law bars him from becoming the senator.  The governor revolves around 16 local government areas while the senator revolves around just 5 local government areas, it is just a matter of semantics to say that the governor is from here the senator cannot come from here.

WHAT ARE OLUOMO'S CHANCES??

He has a very bright chance. Senators Adetunmbi and Ayo Arise were once there and the other 3 aspirants are equally good. We are in such a situation whereby the party has to look for people who are on ground.

IS THERE ANY AMNOINTED CANDIDATE OR GOVERNOR'S FAVORITE AMONG THEM?

Well, I do not want to believe that because the governor has been saying he does not have an anointed candidate.

JUST LIKE WHAT PLAYED OUT DURING THE STATE ASSEMBLY PRIMARY?

The assembly people are going to work with the governor and the constitution gives room for a consensus as long as there is consensus the politicians will use it, but I will say consensus is not what is happening in Ekiti State.  That is why in Ekiti North both the governor and everybody decided that whoever wins in the free and fair primary becomes the Senator just like the Governor emerged from a free and fair primary and that is why our party is still united today.

CAN YOU MENTION SOME OF OLUOMO'S ACTIVITIES AT THE WARDS?

He has visited the 56 wards and he is doing the last phase today (Thursday) and the people have been giving him their words.

CAN YOU MENTION SOME OF HIS PROMOTERS IN EKITI NORTH?

Big politicians are supporting him, so many people. I'm supporting him, Basorun Odetola also, we are from the same local government is supporting him. Hon. Kehinde from Ilejemeje, in Moba Omowaye is supporting him apart from various youths supporting him across the senatorial district. In a free and fair election, this guy is going to win. To me, winning elections in this country solely relies on three things, God, Money and the people. This guy  has the three.

YOUR WORDS FOR THE PEOPLE OF EKITI NORTH SENATORIAL DISTRICT

My appeal to the people of Ekiti North especially the governor elect is to allow a free and fair election because the basic fact is that Chief Segun Oni was given the Senate just to make sure he withdrew the case in court but he said he is not going for Senate and we have to support someone else.
I supported Chief Segun Oni during the primary and majority of us supported him with everything we had: time, money and professional service. Come Tuesday, Oluomo will emerge and your paper will join me here for felicitations.
