Ex-LG Scribes Hail JKF's Emergence

Kayode Fayemi The G-35, an umbrella of all the former Local Government Secretaries in Ekiti that served during the administration of Dr John Kayode Fayemi as the State Governor have hailed his emergence as the flag bearer of the All Progressive Congress (APC), describing it as the will of God. The group made this statement in a release signed by its Chairman and Secretary; Mr Foluso Ojo and Akogun Tai Oguntayo respectively. "Ekiti State APC, by this decision, has put the round peg in the round hole and this will no doubt put an end to the misrule of the PDP government in Ekiti State," the group added. They therefore urged all other aspirants not to allow anybody to use them against their party because "united we rise, divided we fall" G-35 includes all the Secretaries to the Local Government and the 19 Local Council Development Authority (LCDA) created by the Fayemi administration.

The Destroyed Billboard  The All Progressives Congress in Ekiti State has petitioned the Inspector General of Police and the Director General of the Department of State Services over the wanton destruction of the campaign billboard of its governorship candidate, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, in Oye Ekiti. The party claimed that the destruction was carried out on the orders of Governor Ayodele Fayose by supporters of the Peoples’Democratic Party. The APC said the supporters descended on a huge campaign billboard of Fayemi at St. Augustine Secondary School and destroyed it,while being cheered by other members of the party. The APC, in a May 23 petition signedby its Ekiti State Secretary, Mr. Paul Omotosho, called for the immediate arrest and prosecution of those involved in the destruction of the billboard. Animasaun In sudden twist of event on Thursday May 24, the Deputy  Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly,  Hon.  Adesegun  Adewumi, was  impeached during the House,  at its plenary alongside it's Chef Whip,  Hon.  Akinniyi  Sunday.    Hon.  Animasaun Adesina,  representing Ekiti West CONSTITUENCY II, was elected as deputy speaker to replace Hon Adewumi, while Hon. Onigiobi Olawale,     representing Ekiti South West constituency I, was appointed as the new Chief Whip.    Hon.  Adewumi was removed as deputy speaker after a motion moved by the Leader of Business,  Hon.  Akinyele Olatunji  and seconded by Hon Olayanju Olanrewaju .    Hon  Akinyele alleged that Hon Adewumi was found to have indulged in activities capable of bringing the dignity and integrity of the House to disrepute.    Other allegations against the impeached deputy speaker were gross misconduct,  lack of leadership qualities and acting in a way that could destabilize the state.    The  Speaker of the

Ojudu Babafemi Ojudu, the Special adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on political matters, has withdrawn from the Ekiti state governorship race. Ojudu was one of the aspirants in the inconclusive All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary on Saturday, May 5. He announced his withdrawal during a press conference on Thursday in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital. Ojudu said he did not want to be associated with a mess, citing that, among other issues, as the reason for his withdrawal. Rainstorm Wrecks Havoc in Okemesi Ekiti, Destroys Schools, Houses

One of the residential houses destroyed By Ademola Atobaba People of Okemesi-Ekiti in Ekiti West Local Government Areas of Ekiti Syate have appealed to government at all levels to come to their aids over the rainstorm that wrecked serious havoc early this morning in the community. The rain which started around 5:30am on Tuesday destroyed properties worth several millions of naira as over fifty house roofs were blown off during the incident. Okemesi Community High School was badly damaged as the roof of the laboratory building was completely blown off. Other areas affected include: Ode-Ese street, Okerena environs and Fabunmi Memorial High School all in Okemesi-Ekiti. Speaking with newsmen,  the Osolo of Okemesi-Ekiti, Chief Adebowale Adepoju said he had lost over three tons of cement to the incident. Man Commits Suicide At UCH Ibadan (Photo)

A yet -to-be identified man who is believed to be in his 50s has committed suicide today, Wednesday 2nd May,  2018, by plunging from the 5th floor of the Administrative Building of the University College Hospital (UCH) in Ibadan. Eyewitnesses said all they saw was the man landing with a thud on the concrete floor outside the Mortuary Department of the hospital. It was later discovered that he jumped from the 5th floor of the building. The Public Relations Officer of the hospital, Mr Deji Bobade, said a doctor detailed to check on the yet-to-be-identified man, certified him dead. He said police were invited and that the remains of the man  had been deposited at the hospital morgue. The circumstances surrounding his decision to end his own life are yet to be established. The police are yet to comment. Hospital workers are currently on strike.

BREAKING NEWS!!!! EKITI 2018: Disqualified APC Aspirant, VOK Cleared on Appeal

It was a jubilation galore today as the Ekiti State Governorship election Appeal Committee of the All Progessive Congress (APC) cleared Mr Victor Olumuyiwa Kolade aka VOK who was earlier disqualified. The efon Alaaye born legal practitioner was disqualified alongside two others during the screening exercise conducted for 33 APC aspirants in Abuja last week.  The aspirant who promptly petitioned the Appeal Committee headed by Hon Abuzarri Ribadu was cleared on May 2, 2018. In the clearance letter made available to Fountain Newsbreaker and signed by four out of the five members of the Appeal Committee, Kolade's appeal was considered to have merit. Those committee members who signed the letter are: Hon Abuzarri S. Ribadu (Chairman), Dr Tunde Esan (Secretary), Hon Eden Selong and Hon Kayode Oseni. The two paragraph clearance letter States inter alia: "the Screening Committee, after interfacing with you and thorough consideration of all available records concerning you, he
