C.O.E. Ikere Under Lock Over Fayose, Eleka's Visit, Students React

The College of Education of Ikere, Ikere Ekiti was yesterday put under lock as the governor of the state, Gov Ayo Fayose and his deputy were expected to be there for a political visit and to rally support for the continuity agenda.
The Two entrances that lead to the college were locked up yesterday 22nd of may 2018 by both school security and the NSCDC officers under the directive of the Governor Ayodele Fayose
The students and the workers of the institution were reportedly locked up because the governor was to pay the school a visit and in order for him to meet people on ground when he comes the two gates were put under lock.
The students of the institution however reacted over the incident and voiced out their anger towards such treatment from the governor through the security personnel.
"It was a pathetic situation seeing the workers and the students of the college groaning under the laughing sun" a student who preferred to claim anonymous reacted.
Speaking with our reporter, a concerned student who claimed anonymous also said, "Fayose was billed to come today to visit our school.
"Having notified the school authority about this, public announcement was not made about his coming. The school gate had been put under lock and key since 9am today and no student had been allowed to leave the school premises.
"This is alarming and unwarranted which must be condemned in its totality. Must you force students to attend your shows the way you always force civil servants to attends your rallies because of fear of being sacked?
Fayose should be careful. Power is transient. He should Learn to Use power wisely and not blindly".
It was gathered that, students who finished lectures around 11am and workers who was to go home and relax were struggling with the security men who were not ready to listen to the complaints of the maltreated people at the gate.
The struggle which was to no avail continued with the security by the students who were trooping at the gate, some materials were lost and some people got injured.
Some lecturers who were also under the sun lamented that after being denied of their salaries, they had to suffer such maltreatment.
According to our reporter from the Fountain Newsbreaker, they were released to go their various houses by 6pm when there was confirmation that, the Governor was no more coming.
