Broadcast To The Nation From The President.

I will make a farewell broadcast as the president and the commander in chief of the Armed Forces Tomorrow.  The special Adviser to president on Media and publicity has made it known that, president Muhammadu Buhari will make a farewell broadcast as the President, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces on Sunday, May 28, at 7 am. He however urge Televisions, radio stations and other electronic media outlets to enjoined so as to hook up to the network services of the Nigerian Television Authority and Radio Nigeria for the broadcast.

Big Brother Naija Ex-Star Dies

Kolawole Oguntayo, Ado Ekiti  Fountain Newsbreaker Former Big Brother Naija show star, Joseph Ada, has died. Joseph who was among the first edition of Big Brother Nigeria in 2006, passed away in Delaware, U.S. on Wednesday 24th of May 2023. According to a report, he was diagnosed with Pancreatitis and sadly succumbed to the illness. Joseph contested alongside Ebuka Obi-Uchendu who is now the current Master of ceremony (MC) for BBnaija show, Gideon Okeke, Maureen Osuji, Katung, Francisca Owumi, and many others during his time in the Big Brother Naija house.  However, it has been known that Joseph previously worked as a flight attendant for Virgin Atlantic, but later relocated to the United States. Joseph's friends and well wishers feel emotionally discomfort as they mourn his death. What a vanity world!

Group Organizes Enlightenment on UN SDG in Okemesi

Corps Members Protest Against Posting to Schools

A cross section of Corps members serving in Ekiti State have complained against being posted to schools in Ekiti State as they claim it does not add value to their career. Speaking with Fountain Newsbreaker at the State Secretariat of the National Youth Service Commission (NYSC) in Ado Ekiti during the passing out parade of Batch B members, they complained against mass posting to schools contrary to their Educational background. "NYSC should work on the Place of Primary Assignment (PPA) scheme so that the course of study of a corps member will align to where he/she is posted to.  Any engineering graduate should be posted to an engineering department not school," they said NYSC Ado-Ekiti held its Passing Out Parade of Batch B Stream 2 Corps Members at Ekiti Parapo Pavilion, Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State Today, 25th May, 2023. Emefiele Revokes 132 Microfinance Bank Licences

The CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele, has revoked the licenses in the exercise of the powers conferred on the Central Bank of Nigeria under Section 12 of BOFIA 2020, Act No. 5. In accordance to the report, the Central Bank of Nigeria has revoked the operating licenses of 132 microfinance banks in the country,  alongside those of four primary mortgage banks and three finance companies. It was disclosed on the official gazette of the Federal Government, which was published on the website of the CBN on Tuesday. The gazette stated that the licenses of the financial institutions were revoked because they “ceased to carry on in Nigeria, the type of business for which their licences were issued for a continuous period of six months;  failed to fulfil or comply with the conditions subject to which their licences were granted; or failed to comply with the obligations imposed upon them by the Central Bank of Nigeria in accordance with the provisions of Banks and Other Financial Institution...

Jubilation as Ekiti Gives N325m to 23 Communities

The Ekiti state, Governor Biodun Oyebanji, has disbursed a staggering sum of N325million for the implementation of Development plans in 23 Communities in Ekiti State. At the occasion held in Ado Ekiti, the N325million naira worth of cheques were presented to Traditional rulers and other stakeholders on behalf of the benefitting communities.  The report stated that  the presentation was part of his(BAO) administration's efforts to spread development across every community in the State under the Nigeria COVID-19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus (CARES) Programme.  Oyebanji described the programme as a state-level intervention that seeks to mitigate the local effects of the COVID-19 pandemic by protecting the livelihoods of existing and newly poor and vulnerable households and supporting the recovery of local economic activities.  According to him: "The purpose of the program is to mitigate the economic and social shocks faced by the poor and vulnerable as a result...

Against the backdrop of the public condemnation of the usual half nude appearances of the world record breaker, Hilda Baci, she has appealed to Nigerians to see beyond her dressing but to project her ingenuity and doggedness to place Nigeria on the global map. The Akwa Ibom-born chef while addressing the media in Lagos last Thursday defended her dress-sense, saying that one can look sexy and still be a game changer. It would be recalled that the 27-year-old chef came to the limelight following her attempt to break the world record by cooking continuously for 100 hours. She said,  “I don’t have to be dressed like a nun to make it in life. One can be sexy and still amazing, beautiful, and smart.
