Oyebanji Suspends New Commissioner Over Indiscipline

• Vows to Sack Non-performing Cabinet Member Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji has suspended the newly inaugurated Commissioner for Chieftaincy and Home Affairs, Mr Olaiya Atibioke for two weeks. The Governor's action came less than 24 hours after reading riot act to the newly sworn in cabinet members that any who performs below expectation would be sacked. He said this at the retreat he had with them held at Bishop Adetiloye Hall, Trade Fair Complex, Ado-Ekiti on Friday and suspended the Commissioner on Saturday. Karonwi, Aluko Missing From Ekiti Sworn-in Commissioners, ... As Governor alots Ministries to Them

  Former Deputy Speaker of Ekiti State, Rt. Hon. Oladapo Karounwi and former Vice Chancellor of Bayelsa University, Prof Bolaji Aluko were not listed among the sworn in Commissioners today just as the governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji aloted ministries to 19 others. Karounwi is from Efon Alaaye while Aluko is from Ode and the two were among the names submitted to the House of Assembly for the posts of Commissioners. Both of them were screened cleared by the Assembly but not only that they were absent at the event today, their names were not included in the list of allocation of ministries announced by the governor. The Governor swore in Nineteen (19) Commissioners and Fourteen(14) Special Advisers to assist him in the development of the State. Wife of Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Olayemi Oyebanji, has canvassed for the provision of facilities for nursing mothers to breastfeed their babies at workplaces to allow for the practice of exclusive breastfeeding. Dr. Oyebanji urged banks and other corporate organizations to give nursing mothers in their employment and their babies a sense of belonging by providing them opportunities and facilities to practise exclusive breastfeeding.
