Ondo Police Parades Suspected Killers of Naval Officer

By Adeboye Ado  The Ondo state police command has paraded three suspects in connection with the death of a Naval officer identified as Akingbagbohun Samuel Ayomide.  The officer was reportedly killed on Monday by suspected thugs after an argument ensued between him and a motorcyclist at Idoani in Ose local government area of the state.  Parading the suspects, spokesperson of Ondo Police Command, Mrs Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, disclosed that the suspects were arrested while trying to flee the community after allegedly committing the crime. One of the suspects, 20yr-old Sambo Ayomide who confessed to the crime, explained that the deceased was hit with a rod after a minor disagreement on road. The suspect said the officer was beaten this week Monday because they thought he was a fake naval man, noting that they did not have the intention of killing him. FG declares public holidays to celebrate Eid-Kabir

Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Interior, Dr Oluwatoyin Akinlade, who revealed this in a statement on Monday in Abuja said the declaration is in commemoration of this year’s Eid-el-Kabir celebration. In his quest for integrity and quality leadership, Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji has told the House of Assembly to properly screen all his nominees for commissionership and not give a "bow and go" screening to any of them. Members of Ekiti State House of Assembly were led to Governor Oyebanji during last week by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Adeoye Aribasoye, for a courtesy visit but the governor stuned them when he said his nominees for commissionership should be given proper screening because he wanted the best. Man murdered while returning from beer parlour in Ondo

  By Adeboye Ado  Tragedy struck Tuesday, in Ondo West Local Government Area of Ondo State, following the murder of a 45-year-old forest guard simply identified as Moshood. It was gathered that incident which happened along Kola re-wire area, has since thrown the always rosy town into mourning.  According to multiple sources, the deceased popularly known as ‘Omo Olopa’, was with his friends at a beer parlor in the Akure garage area of the town, before the ugly incident happened.  “While on his way home, he was waylaid and killed by gunmen”, they said.  Taken aback by the death of the forest guard, people close to the scene of the incident, wore mournful look and seen in groups discussing in hushed tones. However, Police officers have beefed up security in the area to avert reprisal from some groups who were said to be planning to avenge the death of the victim. Although a police source who confirmed the incident, said investigation into the matter was ongoing.

Lucky Aiyedatiwa and proceeded on a 21-day medical leave. Akeredolu disclosed this in a letter which has been acknowledged by the state House of Assembly.  Speaking through the lawmakers, the Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon.Olamide Oladiji, explained that the Governor had embarked on a 21-day leave for medical treatment abroad starting from 7th of June, 2023 to 6th July, 2023.
