NUJ Lauds Oyebanji on Road Repairs, Reminds Him on Appointment of Journalist as Info Commissioner
The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ekiti State council has lauded Governor Biodun Oyebanji on the massive road Repairs going on in the State just as the union reminds him of their request for the appointment of a professional journalist as the Commissioner for information in the State.
This was contained in the Press Release signed by the Secretary NUJ Ekiti Council, Mr. Kayode Babatuyi, the congress at the Union secretariat on 27th April, 2023.
The union commended the effort of the Ekiti State Government towards the growth and development of the State.It was stated in the signed press release that, "the Congress commends the Ekiti State Government for massive repair of roads across the State which has enhanced vehicular movements. The congress reminds Governor Oyebanji to ensure that an experienced journalist is appointed as commissioner for information to further consolidate on the relationship between his administration and the media.
While commending the recent recruitment of primary school teachers, the Congress appeals to the state government to look into the poor state of some of the primary schools in the State and as well fill up vacancies in other sectorsThe Congress equally appeals to the state government to checkmate the unprofessional activities of traffic wardens in Ado Ekiti.
The union also condoles with the State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji over the demise of the Onikogosi of Ikogosi, His Royal Majesty, Oba Elijah Olorunnisola, Otutubiosun III.The house lauded the step taken by some local government Chairmen for providing security equipment to security agents, urging others to emulate such.
The Congress urges Governor Oyebanji to look into the poor state of sport facilities at the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium and upgrade sport facilities in primary and secondary schools.The congress encourages Ekiti residents to make themselves available for the forthcoming population and housing census as it would be of economic and political benefits for the State.
