NUJ Lauds Oyebanji on Road Repairs, Reminds Him on Appointment of Journalist as Info Commissioner

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ekiti State council has lauded Governor Biodun Oyebanji on the massive road Repairs going on in the State just as the union reminds him of their request for the appointment of a professional journalist as the Commissioner for information in the State. This was contained in the Press Release signed by the Secretary NUJ Ekiti Council, Mr. Kayode Babatuyi, the congress at the Union secretariat on 27th April, 2023. The union commended the effort of the Ekiti State Government towards the growth and development of the State. EKSG Appeals To Olupole Over Edinmo's Chieftaincy Crisis

  The Ekiti State Government, has appealed to Olupole of Ipole Iloro, Ekiti West Local Government Area of Ekiti State, Oba Ezekiel Babatola Oladele, to resolve the crisis surrounding the installation of a new Edinmo Chieftaincy title holder in the town. The State Goverment, said the Monarch's swift action in settling the brewing crisis over the installation would avert internal restiveness that could threaten the peace and stability of the town. The Deputy Governor, Chief (Mrs) Monisade Afuye, made the appeal, on Thursday in Ado-Ekiti, while mediating in the chieftaincy tussle brewing in the community over the installation of new Edinmo outside Fayeba's family . The problem of epileptic power supply in some rural areas in Ekiti State would soon end as the State Government has sought the intervention of the Rural Electrification Agency in Abuja. Governor Biodun Oyebanji who, on Wednesday led a delegation of some state officials to a meeting at the agency’s head office in Abuja, said the state would require an improved power supply to drive economic development and and achieve his government’s vision for shared prosperity. Governor Oyebanji at the meeting, appreciated the support of the Agency for Ekiti State in time past, sought further collaboration of the agency to address power outage in the state. The Governor aligned his vision for a developed and prosperous Ekiti with the Electrification Agency to engender sustainable and affordable electricity supply to every sector in Ekiti State. EKSU Announces Resumption Date For New Students

The Management of Ekiti State University, Ado - Ekiti has announced Monday, 8th May, 2023 as the resumption date for its newly admitted candidates for the first semester of the 2022/2023 academic session. According to a release signed by the institution's public relations officer, Mr Bode Okifinmuwagun, screening and registration exercise for the new session would commence immediately (8th May, 2023), while lectures would start on Monday, 22nd May, 2023. The release further stated that the matriculation ceremony for the new students had been tentatively fixed for Thursday, 25th May, 2023. All the newly admitted students into Ekiti State University, Ado - Ekiti as well as parents, guardians and the general public are to take note of this development.

President-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu returned to the country on Monday evening after about a month trip to Paris, France.
