Ekiti 2022: We Need Somone Like Fayemi To Sustain His Good Works - Omole
• Says Gov takes governance seriously
The Ekiti State Commissioner for Information and Value Orientation, Barrister Akin Omole, has said that the people of Ekiti State should continue to support the government of Dr. Kayode Fayemi based on his developmental programms which are tailored towards bringing good governance to all categories of Ekiti people.
Barrister Omole dropped this hint while hosting the Management of Ekiti State Community and Social Development Agency, (EKCSDA) in his office. He said all the cardinal programs of Dr Fayemi's administration were geared towards enshrining good governance at all levels of development.
Barrister Omole said most of the collaboration and support the Fayemi's administration is getting from the International Development Corporations and other development agencies were as a result of his people's driven development agenda which was aimed at building an impactful legacy for the state.
"No doubt, the achievements of the Governor Kayode Fayemi - led administration in the last two years are quite impressive and all-encompassing. Recall that the administration is driven along the five pillars: Governance, Agriculture and Rural Development, Social Investment, Knowledge-Economy, Infrastructure, and Industrial Development. The government's huge investment in each of these pillars has produced amazing results, and we are still counting."
"I have worked with five governors in this state and I can compare notes and tell which one is doing the real governance. Some of the things the International Agencies and other development donors are doing in Ekiti State today are based on the good governance and transparency leadership being put in place by the Fayemi's administration.
Omole submitted that by the time the Fayemi's administration would be ending in October 2022, he prayed that someone like him would succeed him so as to be able to sustain and continue with his good work and even surpass his accomplishment.
"We are not praying for someone who will take us back 500 years again. We don't want someone who will take Ekiti people far away from civilizations nor someone who will arrogate all things and everything to himself. There must be no distraction in the system again. We must be able to build a good legacy for our children and generation to come. Ekiti belongs to all of us and we must guide it jealously to her fountains," Omole said.
The Commissioner told the EKCSDA team to use her formidable platform to disseminate and preach good governance of the Kayode Fayemi's administration to the people at the community level saying that the Agency has become a veritable tool towards the reduction of poverty and building of basic infrastructure for poor communities across the state.
"The testimonies abound everywhere about the activities of your agency as a veritable tool to eradicate poverty at the community levels and across all the sixteen Local Government Areas of the state. You also have the best platform to preach the successes of the Fayemi’s administration to the rural people. This we can always do together in collaboration with my ministry for the good of Ekiti people. We shall be willing to assist your Agency in the area of adequate publicity and in the covering of your programs."
Earlier, the Chairman of the Board of the Agency, Chief Biodun Akin-Fasae told the commissioner that the team was in his office to seek a working collaboration with his Ministry as the Agency prepares towards the commencement of the NG- CARES Program in the state.
Also, the Ag. General Manager of the Agency, Mr Femi Ojuawo took time to explain the activities of the Agency and some of her achievements to the Honourable Commissioner.
