Insurgency: APC Govt, Incapable - Jide Awe

Gani Salau

Against the backdrop of protracted insecurity in the country, the immediate past Chairman of All Progressive Congress, APC in Ekiti state, Chief Jide Awe has declared his party, the ruling party as being incapable of solving Nigeria's problem.

Awe made this known today on a popular interactive program, Button Line on Cruise FM, 92.7, Ikere Ekiti over the spate of insecurity in Nigeria.

He opined that Nigeria as a country presently "is unsafe to live in due to the incessant and unchecked attack of the bandits and Fulani herdsmen in the country".

The APC stalwart condemned the incessant attack by the Fulani herdsmen on harmless Nigerians as unacceptable and concluded that no one was safe in this country in as much as a sitting Governor could be attacked.

Speaking on the attack on Benue state Governor, Samuel Otom over the weekend, the politician quoted the late Western Region, Chief Obafemi Awolowo; "a community where dog killed a tigger and made away with it is unsafe to live in".

Awe continued,, "When Governors are being attacked, that means nobody is safe . We don't need to be told in Nigeria that we are in trouble. It happened in Ondo state where Akeredolu was attacked. The security architecture in Nigeria today is not worth anything to write home about".

The former APC chairman retorted, "We don't need to wait until senior citizens are being attacked in this country and this is an indication that government is doing nothing. We can no longer pretend when our lives and businesses are in jeopardy everyday. This means, this APC government is not capable ".

The APC stalwart bemoaned "You have thuggery everywhere. My brother was kidnapped and I cannot keep quiet. We are not safe in this country. This dastardly act continues unchecked by the government and when this has reached a certain level, people will rise up like France in 1789. People will rise up and if you call it revolution, so shall it be".

When he was asked to proffer solution to the incessant attack of the bandits and Fulani herdsmen in the country , Awe  opined , "We should restructure this country. Various  Legislative Houses will still be there and we should come back to a round table and nobody will lose anything, the center will still remain and the oppression at the center should be reduced".

Chief Awe, in an exclusive phone chat with the Fountain Newsbreaker to crosscheck the report, reaffirmed that "yes, I said it and I can't withdraw my comments because this is not an issue of one political party or another. We just have to face the reality."

  2. WE THANK GOD THAT CHIEF AWE IS NOW CLEARLY SEE THE HAND WRITING ON THE WALL AND I THANK HIM THAT HE CAN COME OUT AND CONFESS THAT THEY HAVE DESTROYED THE CONTRACTION COUNTRY CALLED NIGERIA. I HAVE NO DOUBT THAT CHIEF AWE WILL AGREE THAT THE MOST UNCURABLE DISEASES ON EARTH IS SELF DECEIT, ON THE BASIS OF THIS, THE ISSUE IS NOT THE QUESTION OF RESTRUCTURING. THIS HAVE GOT THE STAGE THAT EVERYBODY SHOULD GO BACK TO THEIR TENTS AND FIND PERMANENT SOLUTIONS FOR THEMSELVES. TO THE BEST OF MY OPINION AT THIS STAGE OF THE DESTROYED COUNTRY IS THAT ANY PLAN FOR RESTRUCTURING IS JUST A WASTING OF TIME AND ALSO AND INJECTION AFTER THE DEAD BODY WHICH IS ALREADY IN THE MORTUARY.

THERE IS NIETHER POLITICIANS NOR POLITICAL PARTIES THAT CAN OR WILL EVER HAVE SOLUTION FOR THE ALREADY FINISHED FRAUDULENT CONTRACTION COUNTRY WHICH HAS BEEN FULL OF THIEVES, CRIMINALS AND PEOPLE WITHOUT CREDIBILITY CALLING THEMSELVES POLITICIANS. THEY SHOULD PLEASE STOP DECEIVING THEMSELVES AND PUT AN END TO THE KILLINGS OF THE INNOCENT PEOPLE MEN, WOMEN, YOUTHS, AND CHILDREN AND ALSO PUT AN END TO THE DESTROYING ALL THE GOD GIVEN AGRICULTURAL RESOURCES IN ALL PARTS OF THE SOUTH. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.
