Fayemi Signs Sports Development Trust Fund into Law

  In a bid to promote sports in Ekiti State and make it a reliable sector that can enhance the capacity of  youths, Governor Kayode Fayemi has signed into law,  Ekiti State  Sports Development Trust Fund(SDTF). A statement by the General Manager, Ekiti State Sports Council on Thursday, quoted Fayemi as saying  the fund would bring more development to the sports when implemented . Fayemi said with the fund in place, there would be Public-Private partnership in the sponsorship of sporting activities and make the sector a priority of government in terms of funding .  "SDTF is strategic for the development of sports. Now that white collar jobs are not in place, there would be need for us to develop the sports sector to help in generating employments for our youths and build their skills to be able to compete locally, nationally and internationally". Criminology Society Bewails Professor Odekunle

  Fẹ́mi Akínṣọlá The Nigeria Society for Criminology (NSC) has described the demise of the First Nigerian Professor of Criminology and Member Presidential Advisory Council on anti-corruption, Professor Femi Odekunle as a mondo loss to the academic community. A release signed by the Secretary, Board of Trustees of NSC, Professor Hawau Evelyn Yusuf decribed the foremost criminologist as a fearless, upright and exemplary scholar whose influence in the field traverses continents of the world. Until his death Professor Odekunle was the Chairman Board of Trustees of Nigeria Society for Criminology. “With a heavy heart but with total submission to God almighty I announce the passing of Prof Femi Odekunle (1st Professor of Criminology in Nigeria and the Chairman BOT of NSC) which sad event occurred this evening.   Dapo Ojora, a socialite and one of the sons of boardroom guru, Otunba Adekunle Ojora and his wife, Erelu Ojuolape Ojora is dead. According to sources, Dapo, a polo buff reportedly shot himself in the head Friday evening. Dapo’s strange death came as a rude shock to many who could not fathom the reason he would take his own life in such a gruesome manner. BREAKING: Amotekun Nabs Killers Of Ondo Monarch

  Some suspected killers of the traditional ruler of Ifon in Ose local government, Oba Israel Adegoke Adeusi, the Olufon of Ifon, have been arrested by Amotekun Corps and other security agents. Identity of the suspects was yet to be made public because of the ongoing investigation into the killing. They were arrested by a combine team of security operatives that stormed Elegbaka forest after the killing of the monarch. Oba Adeusi was killed last Thursday by suspected kidnappers between Elegbeka and Ifon while returning from a meeting in Akure. The Commander of the Ondo Security Network Agency also known as Amotekun Corps, Chief Adetunji Adeleye, who disclosed this in Akure while parading the suspects, said four kidnapped victims were rescued during the search for killers of Oba Adeusi. Chief Adeleye said the arrested suspects were undergoing interrogations. NLN Commences Operations in Ekiti State

  The National Library of Nigeria has on Wednesday 2nd December, 2020 commenced operations to provide library services in Ekiti State as part of fulfilling the mandate of the Organization to establish a Branch in each of the State Capital of the Federation. Handing over the temporary building on behalf of Ekiti state government, the Director State Library Board Mrs Adeyeye Yemisi expressed gladness for having services of the National Library of Nigeria in Ekiti state.
