Fayemi Sets Up LCDAs Creation Committee

In a bid to bring government more closer to the people, the Governor of Ekiti State, Dr John Kayode Fayemi today set up Local Councils Development Authorities Committee to look into the creation of more development areas in the State. 


This was made available today in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State capital in a press release signed by the Chief Press secretary to the Governor, Yinka Oyebode .


Mr. Segun Oluwole will serve as the chairman while Mrs Gbenga Sola Igotun will serve as secretary. Other members of the committee include Dr Femi Akinola Mr. Victor Akinola, Mrs. Sade Daramola , Mr. Joseph Olaito , Mrs Emily Fagesi ,Mr. Remi Obaparusi .


Fayemi also appointed representatives from the Ministries of Justice, Local Government Affairs,Finance and Economic Development,representatives of Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON), Ekiti State,

 Ekiti State Council of Traditional Rulers 


The Committee's Terms of Reference included to review 

 Local Government Development Council Law, Ekiti State 2014 and make recommendations on its relevance in view of current legal developments in Ekiti State , Consult extensively with the communities where LCDAs secretariat were created by the Local Government Development Council Law, Ekiti State 2014 and make recommendations on their current economic viability and suitability with a view to ensuring uniformity, equity, fairness across the Local Government Areas among others. 


The LCDAs Committee has three months to wind up and submit its report .


It will be recalled that Fayemi created LCDAs towards the tail end of his first administration which did not see the light of the day due to the unsustainable attitude of the successive government.
