Ekiti Recruits over One Thousand Teachers

  



The newly recruited teachers into the teaching workforce of Ekiti state have been charged to always adhere to the ethics of the teaching profession and also contribute towards Restoring the lost values of the education sector.


Governor Kayode Fayemi who stated this at the opening session of a three-day induction program for the newly appointed and converted teachers in the state said that Government place high premium on quality of teaching and learning in all schools in the state.


The theme of the induction workshop for the new intakes is 'Restoring Ekiti values in secondary Education'


Governor Fayemi who congratulated the new teachers said that their appointment was based on merit adding that Government adopted best practices in the selection process.


He said that recruitment into primary schools in the state would be completed before the end of this month.


Dr Fayemi described teachers as key stakeholders who had made impeccable contributions in shaping the society charging the new teachers to live up to their responsibilities of moulding feature leaders.


The governor said that his administration will continue to equip the teachers with modern teaching techniques to enhance quality, effective teaching and learning in public schools.


He said that government would continue to give topmost priority to the uplift of secondary and all categories of education in the state.

In his remarks, the chairman Teaching Service commission, chief Babatunde Abegunde said that Government had increase the stock of teachers in the state by five hundred and sixty-five to further boost the capacity of existing teaching workforce of the state.


He submitted that induction ceremony was to formally welcome the new teachers into the teaching service commission and as well equip them with new teaching techniques.
