Ekiti State/Belarus: EKSG Open To Mutually Beneficial Economic Partnerships - Fapohunda

The Ekiti State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Olawale Fapohunda has said that the Fayemi Administration will partner with any country for the purpose of enhancing the economic development of the State.

Speaking in Minsk, Belarus yesterday June 6, 2019, during an interactive session with some Belarusian Companies and Vocational training institutions, he said that the delegation from Ekiti State was in Belarus to identify  areas of economic partnerships with the Government of Belarus specifically in the areas of Agriculture , Technology and Skills development. 

The Attorney-General said that the Fayemi Administration has  enabled  policies and interventions that would strenthen the economy of the State. He stressed that an important priority of the administration is to create jobs and opportunities  especially for its large youth population.

Fapohunda informed the audience that the State Government had identified the use of technology in Agriculture  and investment in practical skills for the youth as important areas of focus.

He however added that Ekiti State is open to mutually beneficial economic partnerships and that the State Government has taken important steps to remove all obstacles to investment in the State. He said in addition to pro- investment administrative interventions and policies, the State Government recently enacted a development and investment law aimed at providing a legal framework for achieving efficiency in doing business in the State.

This he added was in addition to a novel Administration of Civil Justice Law that simplifies the resolution of commercial disputes in the State.

Fapohunda welcomed the willingness of Belarusian  companies and Vocational training institutions to sign Memorandums of Understanding with the Ekiti State Government and said that the State Government would immediately put in place a technical team to oversee the implementation of these agreements.

The Ekiti State delegation is currently on a Five-Day visit to Belarus.  Members of the delegation include Folorunsho Olabode, Honourable Commissioner for Agriculture and  Samuel Ilesanmi, Technical Adviser to The Governor on Agriculture.

The National Executive of a faction of the Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA) led by Mr. Camilus Ukah has lost its bid to challenge the jurisdiction of the Federal Capital Territory High Court, Abuja, in a pending originating summons against them and the faction it constituted for Abuja, under the Chairmanship of Mrs. Usman Halima.
