NUJ Hails Fayemi Over Oguntayo, Ojo-Lanre's Appointments

 The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), zone B has hailed Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi over the appointments of the former chairmen of the union in Oyo and Ekiti States, Messrs Wale Ojo-Lanre and Tai Oguntayo respectively


The appointments were described as worthy development which would further brace journalism profession in the South West Geo Pilitical Zone.

The union noted that the two professionals who had served as Chairmen of their councils at different times have the potentials to develop the government of their state through the media.

In a congratulatory message issued by Comrade Cosmas Olalekan Oni, the vice president and Bamigbola Gbolagunte, the secretary of the union in the zone, which comprises the six states of the South West region, the union called on the two appointees to live up to expectations in their new offices.

The statement read: “the appointment of both Wale Ojo-Lanre and Akogun Tai Oguntayo could not have come at a better time than this. They are thorough bread professionals who will always deliver in any assignment given to them.

“The appointments have shown that the Ekiti State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi has penchant for quality and will do everything at ensuring that only the best functions in his cabinet. This is a good development which other Governors, especially those of the South West states should emulate for efficient delivery and good governance.

“We, as a union, have no doubt in the ability of the new appointees to deliver beyond the expectation of their principal. This is because of their track records which we are sure will continue to speak for them.

“As chairman of their various councils, the two appointees did their best for the union and their achievements were second to none. We therefore have no doubt that they will bring their leadership and professional acumen to bear in their new appointments and move the government of Governor Fayemi to the next level that the Governor desires,”.
