March 18 Election; There'll be a lot of surprises - Nigerians Speak

Starting the pack is Femi Borisade, a serving corps member in Kano State who participated in the previous election as an INEC staff. According to him; "It's going to be a tightly contested elections, the last elections came with a lot of surprises(seating Governors and national assembly members loosing their seats)

I believe what happened in the last election would affect the turn out of people for this forthcoming election very well.

People would come out to vote but not as that of the presidential elections, because the turn out would be very poor.

 If allowed the opportunity, people would vote personality and not party.

Also, Adeoye Adeleke, a seasoned event photographer and a Patriotic politician from Ondo state says; "The election is going to be peaceful and easy-going in some parts of the country, especially those areas where they are not having their gubernatorial election at this time. 

Also, many will buy into the idea of vote buy because the old currency has been made legal.

Just for instance, what happened in Lagos during the presidential election LP won most polls. Also, there is a tendency that the party that won each poll in the last election will retain their poll's victory.

In areas where there were peaceful elections, voters will come out to vote while those that have violent records may witness some setbacks"

The 2023 election has witnessed a change in perspective.

A larger percentage of Nigerians don't longer vote for parties. They rather vote for character and personality plus track records. Party politics has failed Nigerians. Those who voted for Peter Obi in the last election voted for his personality and track record.

Eniola is from Ekiti State. A graduate of Ekiti State University who is a patriotic citizen of Nigeria speaks in the interview:  "I think this forthcoming election is getting lots of attention and a lot of people are tensed. It’s one of the most important elections just as the presidential election. About 28 states in the country is going to elect leaders who will represent them again for the next 4 years, so I think it’s not just an election anyone can just overlook. I think.

It is most likely it does, you know! With the Obedients move and how lots of people think their votes didn’t count. While some are convenient with the results of the last election, many aren’t as I think this might result in keeping a few people at home again this Saturday.

But you know some are determined to make a change no matter the situation so it’s a 50/50 thing. It most likely might affect this coming election.

Like I said earlier, it’s a 50/50 chance now. Of course the determined ones will definitely come out to cast their votes, and on the other hand someone who experienced how his or her vote was burnt down or destroyed after a long line wait who is not determined will rather sit at home and get something else to do. With the impression “they know who they want, why stress us” mentality.

As it is now, people are looking at personalities and do not really care about parties. For example, the obedients are in love with the president candidate of the Labour Party which in a way brought fame to the party. But let’s just say, this is not presidential election and people do mot have Peter Oni in picture. 

It is now a state matter, people vote according to their understanding or let’s say what they are told to believe. For those who have experienced a better time during the resign of a political party, they are most likely to vote the party again. 

The only State that seem to have the dilemma between personality and party now is Lagos because of how the presidential election went there.

In a state like Oyo State, people might re-elect the present governor back to office because they feel he has, or is doing well. So in this case, the party and personalities work hand in hand"

"The election should go well and be peaceful and we hope that political parties will not make use if thugs and other means of disrupting the election.

I think what happened in the last election will affect the upcoming one ,because this was how they promise until the day of election and they changed plan 

It is under maybe because of what has happened in the past election

I believe the election will be peaceful in my state as it was in the previous election and I believe people will turn out to vote.

What happened in the previous election will definitely affect the forthcoming election especially the issues of ballot snatching, BIVAS. They claim to work with technology but I think they are not ready for it because it was not properly used in this last election.

To me, people will vote based on both party and personality depending on the states that the voters are living.

Iyanu Falana, Oyo state is a fashion designer who is interested in politics. He mobilizes people to vote.

The previous election was peaceful and i believe will come out to vote because no riot was recorded in my state.

People will vote on personality for this upcoming election especially in my state.
