Buhari approves JKF's leave ... As group petitions his eligibility

Buhari President Muhammadu Buhari has approved a leave request from the minister of mines and steel development Kayode Fayemi's leave was approved to enable him particpate in the forthcoming Ekiti gubernatorial election The minister's special assistant said Fayemi's leave will commence on Monday, April 30 A leave application made by the minister of mines and steel development, Kayode Fayemi, has been approved by President Muhammadu Buhari. Daily Independent reports that Fayemi's leave request was granted to enable him participate actively in the governorship election in Ekiti state scheduled to hold in July. The special assistant to Fayemi on media, Yinka Oyebode on Sunday, April 22, said the minister's leave will commence on Monday, April 30. The State Executives Committee of the All Progressive Congress (APC)  in Ekiti  State has passed a vote of confidence on High Chief Jide Awe, the State Chairman of the Party for his forthrightness, doggedness and commitment to leading the party to electoral successes. Murder Case: Ekiti APC Boss, Two Others Discharged, Acquitted

After a protracted murder trial of the state chairman of the All Progressive Congress in Ekiti chief Jide Awe and two others which lasted for almost four years, an high court Ado-Ekiti precised over by Justice Bamidele Omotoso has discharged and Acquitted the APC chieftains. Awe, his aide, and other members of the APC have been on trial for alleged murder of late  Madam Juliana Adewunmi,  and Murphy Jeje, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2013. Late Madam Adewunmi was the mother of Mr. Segun Adewunmi, current  Deputy Speaker, Ekiti State. Ekiti State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Kolapo Kolade, at the High court 7, Ado Ekiti, before Justice Bamidele Omotosho, filed an application for the withdrawal of the case against Awe on Wednesday. INEC Commences Continuous Voters' Registration in Ekiti

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)  in Ekiti State has commenced its Continuous Voters' Registration (CRV) today 11th, April 2018 in all the 177 wards of the state. The exercise which starts today, is slated to end on the 16th of April  2018. Another important milestone was achieved on Easter Sunday, 1 April 2018, when technical experts i.e. Architects, Structural Engineers, Civil Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, Electrical Engineers, Land Surveyors and Quantity Surveyors converged at the ancient town of Ikoro-Ekiti to deliberate on the Master Plan for the proposed University earmarked for the ancient town and allied issues. It is, indeed, a great milestone in our forward march towards the realization of our ardent desire to have a unique university established in our esteemed community. NAN Editor loses Father-in-law

High Chief Adebisi Peter Ademiloyo, the Anaun of Ilumoba-Ekiti who is also the father in law to the Assistant Editor of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Mr Remi Koleoso, has passed on. The seventh day ceremony (IJE) of the Anaun of Iluomoba-Ekiti in Gbonyin local government area of Ekiti state will hold on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at his residence, L4/Okenaun street, Iluomoba Ekiti. High Chief Ademiloyo died on a Good Friday, March 30, 2018 during a brief illness and was buried the same day according to the tradition of the town. The late Anaun was a retired police personnel before he went into full time farming until he breath his last. He was survived by one wife, Chief (Mrs) Roseline Abiodun Ademiloyo, the Eyelori of Anaun quarters as well as children, grandchildren, among whom are Mrs Bolanle Koleoso, the current Regent and wife of an Editor with the News Agency of Nigeria, (NAN) Mr Remi Koleoso, Mr Segun Ademiloyo, Mrs Funso Babalola and Mrs Kikelomo Adeyinka.
