Fed Poly Ado Changes Rector



An Acting Rector has been appointed for the Federal Polytechnic Ado – Ekiti.  He is Dr. Dayo Oladebeye, a Mechanical Engineer and one of the serving Deputy Rectors until his latest appointment effective from Monday, 18th December, 2017.

The appointment, by the Governing Council, followed the expiration of the tenure of Dr. Taiwo Akande, who served out her two-term tenure of eight years in the saddle as Rector effectively by midnight of Sunday 17th December, 2017.

By the appointment  of Dr. Oladebeye who is the current President of the Federal Polytechnic Ado Ekiti Alumni Association, (FEDPAAS), thus become the first Alumnus of the Institution to become the Chief Executive (though in acting capacity) of the 40–year old Institution.

The new Acting Rector, joined the services of the Polytechnic on 30th December 1987, having graduated from the Institution with HND distinction in Mechanical Engineering in 1986.

A widely published scholar, Dr. Oladebeye who obtained High Degrees from two other Institutions, including Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA) where he earned a Ph.D, is a CORENregistered Engineer among other professional bodies which he belongs.

Until his latest appointment, Dr. Oladebeye, who rose through the ranks and became Chief Lecturer of Mechanical Engineering in January 2007, had also served in several capacities as Head of Department, Director of Engineering Innovation Centre, Dean of School and lately Deputy Rector in charge of Special Duties and Revenue General among other positions.
