The former PDP stalwarts made this declaration in Ado Ekiti during State Congress of the Accord Party while receiving the new leadership of the party in the State. He also welcomed those who decamped from the People's Democratic party and the All Progressive Congress.

Okupe who disclosed that he was instrumental to the emergence of Governor Ago Fayose in Ekiti said, "God has already departed from Fayose and PDP, I can assure you that come 2018 Akogun Banji Ojo of the Accord Party will emerge as the new Governor of Ekiti State."

Describing the stomach infrastructure programme as a deceit, the Accord party leader said: "Accord will provide total infrastructure in Ekiti not a deceptive stomach infrastructure. If Fayose claims to be doing stomach infrastructure, what of leg infrastructure or head infrastructure? Road infrastructure and real welfare of the masses will suffer when a government is only concerned about the stomach. No wonder he has failed to pay workers' salaries."

While describing Akogun Banjo Ojo as a God sent, Okupe compared the Ekiti State Deputy Governor, Prof Kolapo Olusola, who has been endorsed by Governor Fayose as an empty shell the moment Fayose, who Okupe described as the snail, leaves office. He said the Accord flagbearer will liberate Ekiti people since the PDP and the APC had let down the people.

In a separate interview, the Accord Party leader and governorship candidate explained that Accord was new in the state because "the old Accord in Ekiti has collapsed with the defection of Mr Kole Ajayi to the APC."

He also disclosed that from 2018, his party would be giving N30,000 soft loan to traders in Ekiti which they would be paying back on instalments of N3000 every month.

Some of those who decamped from other parties to Accord spoke with the Fountain Newsvreaker. According to Mrs Funke Aduloju, a member of APC from Ado Ekiti, "I joined Accord because those I saw their are men and women of integrity"
