Alleged Child Molestation: Baba Ijesha Loses N15m Endorsement Deal

Lanre Omiyinka, popular Nollywood actor at accused of child molestation has lost a lucrative endorsement deal. The comic actor, popularly called Baba Ijesha’s endorsement deal with Matrix Homes and Properties Limited has been terminated as a result of the child molestation allegation against him which has shaken the film industry in Nigeria.   This medium learnt that the deal is worth N15 million annually to the actor. The property firm has put up a notice of disclaimer on the disgraced actor saying his behaviour was anti-ethical to the ideals of the company. In essence, the company said, Baba Ijesha has ceased to be the brand ambassador of the company.

Bisi Fayemi made this assertion during the week at the Adetiloye Hall in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti at the presentation of her book, ‘Where is your wrapper?’ as the guest reader for the April reading of the Association of Nigerian Authors, Ekiti state chapter. FUOYE Suspends Registrar

Gani Salau The  Federal University Oye-Ekiti FUOYE in Ekiti state has suspended Mr. Olatunbosun Odusanya as the registrar of the Federal institution. This was contained in a statement made available to newsmen today in Ado-Ekiti ,Ekiti state capital by the Special Adviser on Media to the Vice-Chancellor, Wole Balogun, that Odusanya was suspended by the University Governing Council under the chairmanship of  Dr. Mohammed Yahuza,  in order to allow for proper investigation into allegations of misconduct leveled against him over irregularities in  recent appointments in the university. It was learnt that  Odusanya's suspension was conveyed to him in a letter dated April 20, 2021 and signed by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abayomi Sunday Fasina which was copied to all appropriate quarters of the University community immediately. The Management and Authority of Ekiti State University restated its commitment to the welfare of its workers, contrary to the recent press conference of ASUU branch of the institution. • Considers 50 applications for clemency  The Ekiti State Advisory Council on Prerogative of Mercy will meet today to consider applications for clemency from persons convicted by the high court of Ekiti State and serving various sentences in the Nigerian Correctional Centers Ado-Ekiti, Abeokuta and  Lagos. This was disclosed yesterday by the Special Assistant to the Attorney-General & Commissioner for Justice, Olakekan Suleman. According to him, out of the 86 applications sent to the Ministry of Justice, 50 were identified for consideration by the Council.  He said the Council will prioritize  applications from young convicts between ages 18 and 21 years; elderly convicts (non-habitual offenders) above 70 years; convicts with terminal diseases; convicts with  infectious diseases and convicts with few months to their release.  Suleman further stated that in line with current government policy, applications from sex offenders as well as those convicted fo...
