Bisi Fayemi Presents ‘Where Is Your Wrapper?’ Tomorrow

All roads lead to Adetiloye Hall in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State capital tomorrow, as the wife of the State Governor, Her Excellency, Erelu Bisi Adeleye-Fayemi presents her latest book, ‘Where is your wrapper?’ to the public as the guest reader in the monthly reading of the Association of Nigerian Authors, ANA, Ekiti state chapter.

Bisi Fayemi, a prolific writer and an active member of Ekiti state chapter of ANA upon her busy schedule and the paraphernalia of office as the first Lady of Ekiti state has just finished the production of the new book which will be unveiled to the public in the next 24 hours.

Bisi Fayemi who is well known as a gender advocate is strategic enough in the presentation of her book to mark "the world book day" which is celebrated every 23rd of April. She chose Thursday, 22nd of April so as to allow the world book day to be celebrated by authors, writers particularly, ANA, Ekiti state chapter to mark the world book day.

While having a chat at the end of an emergency meeting of the executive of ANA, Ekiti state chapter held at the cafeteria of Ekiti state University Teaching Hospital, Ado-Ekiti with the state chairman, Dr Sola Balogun, he expressed the preparedness of the association and assured that ANA April reading would be conducted in a different way because the mother of Ekiti ANA would be the guest reader.

The University Don opined, "You know, H E, Erelu Bisi Fayemi is a prominent and committed member of Ekiti ANA, I can tell you that her reading this month of April is unique though, our mother has been a guest reader before but this one is special in the sense that her book, ’Where is your wrapper?’ is going to be read and presented to the public by her so, we are having a big fish this month.”

Balogun further informed that ANA members together with the Theatre Arts students of Ekiti state University, EKSU and Federal University of Oye Ekiti., FUOYE have been adequately mobilised to trill the August reader and make the place lively for the public on Thursday.

Bisi Fayemi has authored many books, among which is ’Loud Whispers’, a book she read excerpts from as the guest reader in November, 2008.

The Governor of Ekiti state, H E, Kayode Fayemi, cabinet members and top government functionaries, academia are expected to grace the book reading. The National Secretariat of ANA will be represented by the national secretary, Akogun Tai Oguntayo.

It would be recalled that ’Where is your wrapper?’ ought to have been presented to the public last year December which was postponed due to the second wave of COVID-19.
