Nigeria Labour Congress(NLC) has fixed a meeting with the Representatives of the Federal Government Today, 31st May, 2023 by 2pm over the planned removal of fuel subsidy. The NLC National President, Joe Ajaero, made the disclosure during an interview with the Press on Wednesday morning. In the interview, He said, "the position of Labour had been clear that even if President Bola Tinubu had a good intention, alternatives must be provided" He said, "the President should have asked questions and found out the implications of fuel subsidy removal on Nigerians on the streets.   Governor of Ekiti State, Mr Biodun Oyebanji has summoned fuel marketers in Ekiti State today (Tuesday) in his after after warning them not to hoard the fuel because of President Bola Tinubu's statement on the removal of fuel subsidy. The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited has welcomed the pronouncement of President Bola Tinubu on the removal of fuel subsidy. According to the post made on their Facebook page, NNPC has urged Nigerians to stay calm and not to panic buy fuel. They assert that the removal of fuel subsidy is in the best interest of the country and that it will help to improve the economy. The company has also said that it is working to ensure that there is no shortage of fuel in the country.
