Why We Formed Ekiti Christians For BAO - Scribe

The Secretary of EKITI CHRISTIANS FOR BAO, Pastor 'Kayode Amos Odunayo in an interview with Fountain Newsbreaker, has explained why the group was formed.


According to the Chief Lecturer at College of Health Sciences and Technology, Ijero, the group was envisioned before the election of the present Governor, His Excellency Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji. "It is an interdenominational, socio-political and pure Christians' organization that sees to the spiritual aspect of BAO tenure. The organization believes that BAO practices a democratic system of government (a government of the people, by the people and for the people). BAO wants the people of Ekiti State to experience growth, development and peace and this organization believes this with him". 


Speaking further, the Ipole-Iloro born lecturer said the organization believed that God wanted to use the Governor for the growth, development and peace of the people. "It will be of great benefit to the people if they work with him to bring into fulfillment the plans he has for the State" he said.


Among the focuses of the group, under the able leadership of ever sagacious Engineer Pastor Kunle Kolade, are; "Strategic Prayers for our Governor, His Excellency BIODUN ABAYOMI OYEBANJI and his family, Prayers for those in authority, according to the word of God. This government must surpass all previous administrations in Ekiti in making life worth living for the people. To publicize all government activities in all our churches and all Christian gatherings. All our zonal leaders/coordinators and Local Governments leaders/coordinators must organize regular meetings/prayers and recruit more members and encourage more Christians to participate in politics. Active Participation in all programmes of the government. As a representatives of our 'constituency', we drop  hints about developmental issues/needs to be attended to by His Excellency & get same across to His Excellency".


Odunayo further said, "We are with the Governor in the spirit". This means, they are serving as a spiritual backup for the Governor. He is a childhood friend, class mate, brother and friend to the governor.  This gives him assurance that the Governor, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji is a good choice for Ekiti. He was confident that God is set to perform wonders through him!
