Stop Illegal Use of Ekiti Logo, Govt Tells Bloggers

The Government of Ekiti State has sounded a note of caution to members of the public, especially publishers of online newspapers, bloggers and publishing  companies against indiscriminate and unauthorised use of  the state's official logo.

Similarly, the state government dissociated itself from and condemns recent use of the state logo by some online media outfits to illustrate defamatory news reports, thereby making such reports appear as official position of government.

“Members of the public, particularly online publishers should kindly note that the Ekiti State logo remains the property of the state government and is backed by law.

“For the purpose of clarification, the  Ekiti State logo can only be used by authorised officials and on official documents.

“Consequently, any illegal, unauthorised and indiscriminate use of the logo is a violation of the law and the state would not hesitate in applying relevant laws to deal with unauthorised users.

“The Government of Ekiti State subscribes to the highest ethical standards and takes pride in its identity as the Land of Honour,” a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Yinka Oyebode read.
