The Governor of Jigawa State, Alh. Mohammed Badaru Abubakar on Friday submitted the report of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Ekiti State Governorship Primary Election.  Governor Badaru is Chairman of the seven-member APC Committee that conducted the Direct Primary Election on Thursday 27th January, 2022.  The APC Director of Organisation, Prof. Ussiju Medaner recieved the report on behalf of the Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) at the Party’s National Secretariat, Abuja.  Speaking to journalists on the outcome of the Primary Election, Governor Badaru said: "We have submitted the results sheets and reports where elections were conducted - 166 wards. 11 wards were disrupted and we cancelled those areas. But in 166 wards, people actively participated. And I think you all have the videos of what transpired in all the 166 wards except the 11 wards.  Governor Badaru added: "The committee landed on the 26th. I had meetings with all the aspirants and

I have no interest in senatorial seat - Erelu Fayemi

Wife of Ekiti State Governor, Erelu Bisi Fayemi has said she has no interest in the senatorial seat in Ekiti North as been circulated since the early hours of today.  She wrote: Dear friends, This morning, I woke up to see posters online for Erelu Bisi Fayemi, Senate Ekiti North. This information has been circulating for some time now so it is nothing new. Today's poster was however released the morning after Mr Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji (BAO) emerged as Gubernatorial Candidate for the next Governorship election in Ekiti State. Those behind this mischief have been floating the narrative that the Senatorial seat is going to be my reward for supporting Mr Oyebanji's aspiration. My position is as follows: 1. I have no interest whatsoever in contesting for a Senatorial seat. I have never discussed this with anyone and how this story keeps circulating is a mystery. Let me repeat, I am not interested. 2. My sole political agenda in Ekiti State is to support my husband, HE Dr Kayode Fay

Principled Political Choices are not Betrayal

By Babafemi Ojudu I have seen a statement made by me, many years ago, to celebrate the 60th birthday anniversary of Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu making the rounds. Yes I did make that statement. And more of such will come in my autobiography. We, together, have seen good days and bad days.  I and Bola Tinubu have come a long way and we have been there for each other. So let no one use my acknowledgment of his good deeds and my refusal not to support him in his bid for Nigeria presidency to portray me as a betrayer.  Tinubu remains my leader and I will forever cherish him and the contributions he made to my Organisation during our fight against the military.  He however knows I don’t follow the herd. I make my choices based on very rigid parameters . He will tell you I am very Independent in my actions and ways.  As a third year university student my dad chose to be in NPN. I never considered the fact that he fed me and paid my school fees to join him in a party I despised.  I went to UP

How many epistles will MOB write before Primary Election? - by Akogun Tai Oguntayo

By Akogun Tai Oguntayo Hmmmmm, politicians!!! This is serious. Maybe this is why some people may not see me as a good politician because I hate to see people seamlessly engaging in self pontification. How many letters or essays will MOB write before this primary election and how many lies will he tell or not tell? He or his agent wrote the first article tagged; *"Mischief Makers Are on the Prowl Again"* where he described himself or was described as a non-violent man. While I was still trying to juxtapose this with the unprecedented violence that trailed his campaign in every town of Ekiti during his governorship ambition in Labour Party in 2014, I stumbled on another epistle titled; *#5th #Columnist #at #work*  What got me pissed off in this is the mindless attack on ThisDay's reporter, Victor Ogunje, who wrote the detailed analysis of Ekiti governorship report which MOB's second unsigned reaction attempted to condemn. Interestingly, Victor  Ogunje, the Ijan-Ekiti bo

•Sues for peace ahead of party primaries A leading Governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and former Secretary to State Government, Hon. Biodun Oyebanji, has, again, showered encomiums on leaders and members of the party in the state for their steadfastness and the warm reception accorded him and his team during his recently concluded tour of  local governments in the state. The tour, which took place between January 4 and 13th, was Oyebanji’s second round visit to the local government chapters of the party, where he had one-on-one meetings with APC leaders, members and stakeholders in the 177 wards.   Speaking in Ado Ekiti at the weekend, Oyebanji said he was excited and satisfied with the great reception accorded him, the open and frank discussions he had with the leaders and stakeholders as well as the demonstrated commitment of APC members to the success of the party’s primaries and eventual victory at the June 18 governorship election in the state.
