Erelu To Flag-off ‘Keep Girls in School Pad Bank’ in Okemesi July 1
In a move to minimize the number of out-of-school girl child in Ekiti State, wife of the State Governor, Erelu Bisi Fayemi will, on Thursday, July 1, flag-off the ‘Keep Girls in School Pad Bank’ in Okemesi Ekiti.
The flag-off ceremony which will take place at the St Michael's Anglican Church Event Hall, Esa-Oke Road, Odowo Street, Okemesi-Ekiti will start at exactly 10 am. The event is expected to bring together girls from senior secondary schools in Okemesi-Ekiti and Ido-Ile communities.
The ‘Keep Girls in School Pad Bank’ initiative is aimed at addressing issues that keep girls out of school, one of which is ‘Period Poverty’ or lack of capacity for menstrual hygiene management.
The initiative specifically targets vulnerable school girls and is aimed at enabling access to reusable sanitary protection, a sustainable way of menstrual hygiene management.
Expected to be at the flag-off in Okemesi-Ekiti are, the Wife of the Governor herself, Erelu Bisi Fayemi, Ekiti State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Olawale Fapohunda, Member House of Assembly representing Okemesi Ido Ile Constituency Honourable Johnson Bode-Adeoye, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Yinka Oyebode, Special Adviser Media to the Speaker, Ekiti House of Assembly, Akogun Tai Oguntayo.
Others are Chairman, Ekiti West Local Government, Kareem Agunbiade, Alhaja Misturah Motunrayo Adesina, Vice Chairperson, Ekiti West Local Government, Segun Onaade, Commissioner, Local Government Service Commission and many more.
