No Shooting In FUOYE - Fashina

The Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Oye Ekiti, Professor Abayomi Fashina has refuted the claim in some quarters that there was sporadic shootings at the Oye Ekiti campus of the University on Monday evening.
Fashina who has just taken over the administration of the University a couple of weeks ago spoke through his Special Assistant on Media,Wole Balogun in a press release made available to the press in Oye Ekiti, Ekiti state today saying "That the alleged unfortunate sporadic shootings did not happen on the Oye Campus of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti
The statement further read ,"That it happened off Campus and thus, has nothing to do with our great Citadel of Learning where peace, tranquility and stability have been witnessed ever since, courtesy of good job by our security unit in collaboration with Federal security agencies who provide adequate security on the campus and its environs, as well as good conduct by both students and staff."
Fashina assured that the relevant security agencies and operatives have been on the top of the situation since and there was no cause for alarm.
He maitained that normalcy has since returned to the allegedly troubled areas in Oye and directed that students should go about their normal businesses without any fear.
It would be recalled that the alleged shooting was circulated mostly on the social media alleging sporadic shootings on Oye campus of the Federal University of Oye Ekiti, Ekiti state on Monday, the 9th of March ,2021. Professor Abayomi Fashina took over from Professor Shoremikun last month as the fourth Vice Chancellor of Federal University of Oye Ekiti, Ekiti state.
