Afuye Harps on Clean Environment

The Speaker, Ekiti State House of Assembly, Rt.Hon. Funminiyi Afuye has called for a renewed campaign of cleaning up of gutters and drainages for free flow of water during this raining season.

Afuye made the call during the June edition of the monthly environmental sanitation in the state.

The Speaker, who was accompanied by the Chairman, Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government, Mr Sina Ogunleye; Permanent Secretaries,  Establishment, Mr Abayomi Opeyemi and Capacity, Development  and reforms, Mr. Dare Ajayi among others, appealed for support of all residents on the need to clean and clear their premises, especially drainage channels across the state, so as to avoid unforeseen outbreak of diseases and flooding.

He condemned the non compliance of motorists, especially those coming into the state from other states during the sanitation exercise and urged Security agents to clamp down offenders.

Rt.Hon. Afuye while stressing that Covid-19 is real, enjoined residents not to take the Covid-19 pandemic for granted and as well advised them to keep observing all established protocols of wearing face mask, maintaining social distancing

The Council Chairman, Mr. Sina Ogunleye, in his message the people, admonished them to keep their environment, gutters and drainages clean during the training season.
