Court Halts Judgement On Murder Case In Ekiti

 Ekiti state High Court under Justice A L Ogunmoye of court 4 on Monday, February 17th, halted judgement on the alleged murder and attempted murder case preferred against six accused defendants by the state till further notice.

  Barrister Olukemi Daniel Ojo from the state Ministry of Justice appeared for the state preferred against Oniyelu Olu, Folorunso Oluwatoba, Peter Ajayi, Dolami Olaide, John Ojo and Lateef Arowolo on the three counts charge bothering on conspiracy, murder and attempted murder of one Sola Adeniyi on the 7th of February, 2017 at Ilupeju Ekiti.

Also, attempt to murder Ojo Olaoluwa on the 7th of February, 2017 at Ilupeju Ekiti and thirdly, conspiracy to murder Sola Adeniyi on the 7th of February, 2017 at Ilupeju Ekiti cap c16, laws of Ekiti state 2012 contrary to section 516 of the criminal code and law of Ekiti state 2012.

 Also, contrary to section 320 of the criminal code law cap 16, laws of Ekiti state and the third count charge is contrary to section 316 of the criminal code law, cap c16, laws of Ekiti state, 2012.

  Dr Adetifa moved motion to remove the first defendant and his address and appeared for the third respondent having filled it on the 17th of February, 2020. O J Abiola appeared for the 4th dependant while  S A Longe appeared for the sixth defendant and C O Omokafe appeared for the second and fifth defendants.

  All the defendant counsels urged the court to discharge and acquit their clients while Mrs Ojo, the state counsel urged the court to sentence all the six accused as charged.

  Having carefully listened to various parties, Justice Ogunmoye pronounced that the day of judgement would be communicated to the various parties.

ANA Faction Loses Court Case, Risks Being Docked For Contempt of Court

The National Executive of a faction of the Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA) led by Mr. Camilus Ukah has lost its bid to challenge the jurisdiction of the Federal Capital Territory High Court, Abuja, in a pending originating summons against them and the faction it constituted for Abuja, under the Chairmanship of Mrs. Usman Halima.
