Karounwi Becomes Zonal APC Publicity Secretary

A Chieftain of the All Progressives' Congress (APC) and Special envoy to the governor of Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi on Regional Matters, Oladapo Karonwi has been made the Zonal Publicity Secretary of the APC in South West.

The announcement was contained in a release after a  ratification was made in the South West APC Zonal Executive Committee meeting held under the leadership of the National Vice Chairman/Zone, Bankole Oluwajana in Ado-Ekiti on 17th April, 2019.

In his reaction to his appointment, Karounwi said, "I wish to appreciate the Governor of Ekiti State, Dr Kayode Fayemi, and the National leader of APC in Ekiti state, Otunba Niyi Adebayo for the trust and confidence they repose in me.

The Efon Alaaye born politician started his political career at the grassroot when he was elected as a Councillor in the old Ekiti West Local Government and later pioneer Vice Chairman of Efon Alaaye Local Government in 1996 when it was created. He was later elected as a member of the first set of House of Assembly in Ekiti State where he served as the Deputy Speaker between 1999 and 2003. Karounwi thereafter served at different capacities of the then Alliance for Democracy and Action Congress at State level.

Karonwi was also a Special Adviser on Parliamentary Affairs in the first tenure of Dr Kayode Fayemi. He contested for the Senate in Ekiti Central under the platform of All Progressive Congress in 2015.

ANA Faction Loses Court Case, Risks Being Docked For Contempt of Court

The National Executive of a faction of the Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA) led by Mr. Camilus Ukah has lost its bid to challenge the jurisdiction of the Federal Capital Territory High Court, Abuja, in a pending originating summons against them and the faction it constituted for Abuja, under the Chairmanship of Mrs. Usman Halima.
