Just In: Trailer, Fuel Tanker Collide On Suleja-Minna Road

Five persons have been confirmed injured in the early morning head-on collision between a fuel tanker and a trailer on Friday. The tanker was laden with Kerosene, a highly flammable hydrocarbon liquid. The spokesperson of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Mr. Bisi Kazeem, who confirmed the incident to our correspondent on Friday, said the victims have been taken to the hospital. “No life was lost,” Kazeem said. The spokesman said the accident happened at about 0857hrs local time, and that the Corps was notified within two minutes, while first responders arrived the scene in 14 minutes at 0913hrs. “The accident happened on Suleja-Minna road, specifically in Mallam Karo village, on Friday,” Kazeem said. Exposed! Fayose, INEC Staff Manipulate Voting Materials Ahead Ekiti Election - APC Cries Out

The All Progressive Congress has burst a grand plot by the People's Democratic Party in cahoots with some identified Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to manipulate some electoral materials in favour of PDP governorship aspirant in Ekiti State, Professor Olusola Eleka. The alleged INEC officials: Egharevba John, Festus Aisien, Igidiogu Kelechi and Ishaku Abbo, a former INEC staff were accused of producing stamps, PVCs, result sheets (Form EC 8A) and INEC  forms. Ekiti 2018: NUJ Holds Rally, Preaches Peace

To forestall violence in the forthcoming July 14 Governorship election in Ekiti, the State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has organised a Peace Advocacy Rally today in Ado Ekiti. The rally which was sponsored by the NUJ Ekiti council in conjunction with the NYSC and some NGOs started from the NUJ Secretariat got through Irona, Ijigbo, old garage okeyimi to Okesa all in Ado Ekiti and It was rounded off at the Secretariat at about12 noon. According to the leadership of the Union led by Comrade Rotimi Ojomoyela, the rally was not politically Oriented but to preach advocate peace during the forthcoming election in the State. In the spirit of solidarity, members of the public, labour leaders, NGOs, Corps Members and lovers of peace also joined the train of the rally.

2019: Markafi Declares Intention To Run

Former Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Ahmed Makarfi has finally declared to run in the 2019 presidential election  Makarfi, the immediate past Caretaker Committee Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, made the declaration at a press briefing in Kaduna on Sunday. According to him, “After wide consultations with party men and women as well as other major stakeholders, I have decided to seek the party’s nomination to contest the poll.” The two time Senator said he was now ready to pick the PDP nomination form ahead of the 2019 presidential election. He becomes the second member of the PDP to make his intention public after former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

The State Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Chief Jide Awe, has warned all members and intending members who are causing disaffection in the party to desist reinstating that victory at the July 14 poll is paramount to the party. BREAKING NEWS: APC Supporter Shot In Head In Ado

Within 24 hours, APC supporters have received attacks in two incidents suspected to be led  by Fayose's thugs as outrage this evening greets the shooting of an APC member, Willy, at Igbehin area of the state capital. At about 2.30 am Wednesday morning, armed thugs invaded the hotel owned by former APC governorship aspirant, Dr Wole Oluyede, singing war songs over his support for Dr Kayode Fayemi and threatening to destroy his hotel. The security guard in hiding in the premises of the hotel said he heard the thugs abusing Oluyede for supporting Fayemi instead of his townsman, Prof Olusola Eleka of PDP. Before departing the hotel, they shot sporadically, destroying the billboard that Oluyede donated to Fayemi. This evening, according to eyewitnesses, two men on bike rode past Willy and the rider suddenly applied the brakes and rained bullets on Willy's head. Kolapo Olusola Eleka Just as the Governorship election in Ekiti State draws nearer, Governor Ayodele Fayose early this morning began election violence in Ikere-Ekiti as his thugs working for Prof Olusola Eleka launched attacks against APC's leader, Dr Wole Oluyede, for supporting the party's governorship candidate, Dr Kayode Fayemi. At exactly 2.38 am this morning, arms-bearing thugs in two buses stormed Ado-Ekiti road and made a stop in front of Dr Wole Oluyede's hotel along Ado-Ikere road in a hail of bullets. They fell short of attacking the hotel, but the billboard donated by Dr Oluyede to Dr Fayemi was not spared. The policeman that released the shots that injured a former member of the House of Representatives, Michael Opeyemi Bamidele and five others at a reception rally by All Progressives Congress for its governorship candidate, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, has been dismissed from the Force. The Commissioner of Police, Ekiti Command, Mr. Bello Ahmed, announced this while featuring on a live television programme, on Monday. CP Ahmed, who was interviewed via the telephone by the television station on the morning show, said “the policeman involved is dismissed already and even though he’s nursing some injury; and at the appropriate time, he will face the law of course.
