Babarinsa, Varsity Don, Okunlola Deliver OYED Lecture On Christmas Eve



Former Tell magazine Editor, Mr Dare Babarinsa and a don't at the Federal University of Technology, Akure, Professor Niyi Okunlola will deliver lectures at the Okemesi Youth Education and Development Summit coming up at the Okemesi Grammar School on December 24, 2017.

While Babarinsa will be talking on: "Leadership. Economic and Political Development in a Community: The Way Forward in Okemesi, Okunlola will be talking on: " Youth Empowerment and Enterpreurship Value Chain: Cade Studies for Okemesi "

Okemesi Youth and Economic Development Summit (OYEDS) is a lecture series initiated by the Federation of Okemesi Improvement Union (FOIU) to conceive ideas and programmes that will drive human and environmental development of Okemesi Community.

According to the publicity Committee, "FOIU envisions OYEDS as a tool that will position Okemesi as a united, committed and peaceful community that will become the economic hub of her environment and beyond through her energetic and dynamic youths.

"It is also our mission to create an enabling environment that makes her people co-exist peacefully for the actualization of best standard of Social, Economic and Political activities that attracts sustainable developments from individual indigenes/non indigenes from home and abroad", the committee said

After the programme the release said the following committees would be set up: Agriculture, Micro and Small enterprises development ((AMSED), Political and Economic awareness development (PEAD), Youth leadership, Employment and Empowerment initiative (YLE &EI), Education (IT & Nursing), Guidance and Cancelling (EGC), Social Services (Security, Ecology, Electricity & Banking), Project development and Networking (SSPD & N), Budget Monitoring & Evaluation (B,M&E)

The grand finale of this programme will take place at the hall of Okemesi Grammar School on the 24th of December though it will start on Friday 22nd, December with a health talk and medical screening tagged: Productive Living Through Personal Health Maintenance and Empowerment.

The Medical Screening Campaign will also  be on diseases like:
Basic tests on Blood Pressure, blood sugar and the likes, mental Illness, health problems related to use of hard drugs/substances, HIV/AIDS - Voluntary Counseling and Testing (VCT) and career development counseling talk  with  Dr. M.k. Bolarinwa

Those Targeted for this programme are Students ( SS1 - SS3),  representatives of all  associations and all those who care for medical attention. The
Venue for this health programme is  Fabunmi Memorial Grammar School hall. The time is 10am and this Section will be anchored by Dr Ariyibi Kayode who is the Vice President, Nigeria Medical Association (NMA) in Ekiti State.

The Okemesi Christian Fellowship will be sponsoring this health programme and thanksgiving service will take place at the Okemesi Central mosque at 1pm. Later that evening by 6: 30, there will be Candlelight processions to create awareness for the main event.

On Saturday, the second day of the programme, 23rd December, 2017, there will be a football match which is the final round of the tornament on the Fabunmi Memorial football field. Chief Taiwo Ariyibi who is the Chairman Sports committee will be the anchor. This football tournament is sponsored by the OYEDS Donors.

The Grand finale of this Summit will take place on the 24th of December, 2017 at the Okemesi  Grammar School hall.

Prior to the commencement  of the summit, there will be Thanksgiving services in all the churches in the town before the commencement of the programme by 12noon.

The Guests of Honors expected to grace the occasion are the Owa ooye in council, Political office holders, Head of Christian community, Head of Muslim community, Head of Osinles, Past FOIU Presidents and National Secretaries, Branch Chairmen of FOIU nationwide, Presidents of Okemesi clubs and associations, Oloriewes from each compounds and Distinguished personalities.

Dr. M.K. Bolarinwa, Dr. Josef B.Bolarinwa and
Chief Alh. Bayo M.R. Ajijola are to moderate the programme while the Managing Director and Editor in Chief of *Fountain Newsbreaker* , Akogun Tai Oguntayo in conjunction with the
CFA Studies International is the Rapporteur of the programme.

The programme is going to be an interactive one where the following personalities will be the Discussants: Chief Bukola Oluwadiya, Prof. Biyi Daramola, Chief M.A.O. Oyeniyan, Mr Goke, Engr Kayode Esho, Mr. Laoye Jaiyeola, Mr. Moses Jolayemi, Mr. Jide Omikunle, Chief Mrs Mojirade Oluwadiya, Mr Ayodele Ibuoye and Hon. Wale Fapohunda. Others are: Hon. Adebayo Adeosun (Awise), Presidents and Representatives of all associations and clubs.
