There is no plan to pay ex-corps members N75,000 - NYSC

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) said the media had taken the story from a false Facebook account

The NYSC urged Nigerians to disregard the initial story on the payment

It described the report as misleading

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has denied that it has plans to pay former members of the scheme the sum of N75,000 each.

The NYSC said it has no such plan as reported by a section of the media recently.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the director of press of the NYSC, Mrs Bose Aderibigbe, reacted to the report in a statement on Saturday, August 12, 2017.

According to the NYSC, those who published the story relied on a false Facebook account.

“The attention of the NYSC management has been drawn to the publication which is false and misleading, the public should disregard it.

“A fake Facebook account, NYSC Online, has also been spreading the content published by some bloggers.

“We further wish to inform our esteemed stakeholders that the so-called NYSC 0nline is not the official Facebook page of the National Youth Service Corps.
