Ekiti Assembly Passes novel Office of the Attorney-General Bill

The Ekiti State House of Assembly, at its sitting today Wednesday, 4th of August has enacted the novel Office of the Attorney General Bill, 2021. This Bill among others, aims to provide for the administration of the Office of the State Attorney-General in furtherance of Section 195 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,1999 (as amended).  The Bill provides for the functions and powers of the Attorney-General, the performance of his functions and the establishment of various departments in his office as well as the appointment of Legal Officers to various Ministries, Agencies and Departments in the State. Fapohunda rallies APC Okemesi Ekiti to a peaceful congress

-As SWAGA candidates lose out The Honourable Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice Ekiti State, Olawale Fapohunda has rallied APC party faithfuls in the three wards of Okemesi Ekiti to a successful ward congress.  As at the time of going to press this afternoon, the congress in the three wards had been concluded without any disturbance.  In Ward 08 members opted for consensus candidates after successfully negotiating with all party members to pull together. Fapohunda had before today’s congress held series of meetings with the Ward Leaders urging them to adopt a unified list of candidates.  One female candidate who insisted on contesting for ward chairman was persuaded to work with the party leadership. Fayemi inaugurates 260,000 capacity first private cemetery in Ekiti

The Governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, yesterday inaugurated the 260,000 capacity first private cemetery in the state, saying the concept will avert environmental hazards and safeguard the health of the citizens.   The Governor spoke in Ado Ekiti while inaugurating the ‘CitiGate Park and Gardens Cemetery’ located in the Eminrin area of the state capital. Fayemi, represented by the Commissioner for Environment, Barr. In a message on the occasion, the chairman of APC caretaker committee in the state, Chief  charged Muslim faithful to use the period of the celebration to pray for peaceful coexistence and harmony in the country. 2022: ‘Ekiti Deserves Govt Of Continuity’

Ekiti State All Progressives Congress (APC) Elders’ Forum has said the state deserves a government of continuity in 2023. Rising from a meeting presided over by its Chairman, Asiwaju George Akosile, in Igbara-Odo-Ekiti, the group said the next progressive government would build on the achievements of the Governor Kayode Fayemi administration. According to the forum, party members taking part in the proposed congresses should adhere to the resolution of the stakeholders.
