The Ekiti State House of Assembly, at its sitting today Wednesday, 4th of August has enacted the novel Office of the Attorney General Bill, 2021. This Bill among others, aims to provide for the administration of the Office of the State Attorney-General in furtherance of Section 195 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,1999 (as amended).  The Bill provides for the functions and powers of the Attorney-General, the performance of his functions and the establishment of various departments in his office as well as the appointment of Legal Officers to various Ministries, Agencies and Departments in the State. The Governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, yesterday inaugurated the 260,000 capacity first private cemetery in the state, saying the concept will avert environmental hazards and safeguard the health of the citizens.   The Governor spoke in Ado Ekiti while inaugurating the ‘CitiGate Park and Gardens Cemetery’ located in the Eminrin area of the state capital. Ekiti State All Progressives Congress (APC) Elders’ Forum has said the state deserves a government of continuity in 2023. Rising from a meeting presided over by its Chairman, Asiwaju George Akosile, in Igbara-Odo-Ekiti, the group said the next progressive government would build on the achievements of the Governor Kayode Fayemi administration.
